I think I was close to 100% for a significant part of my life. But even then the whole idea of the religion was embarrassing.

"100 years of kingdom rule" so what?? what does it mean??
by stuckinarut2 ini cant stop the nagging thoughts in relation to the hype about "100 years of kingdom rule" !.
what is the significance?
why make such a big deal about something like that?.

They may discount that there is no significance, but I suspect that more than a few will use this as a watershed year to re-evaluate their life's goals.
I remember in the 1990s I plugged into the calandar 2014 and wrote a note to myself that If the end did not occur I was going to leave. Fortunately, I figured that life is too short to wait 20 years and I left 10 years ago (too bad I wasted the 10 years, but that is another story).
How many have made the same mental note for 2014? I predict a lot.

The End of The World Delusion
by cassuk11 inbeing pushed by religion since the 17th century.
my question is why ?.

Religion is a bullshit story - but it works and has worked for as long as people existed and needed ways to exert power over others.
Connecting people to the dead helps create societies and cultures. If dead people were just - dead - and nothing more, we might lose our connection to the past. Thus, religion completes the cycle. With end time predictions religion is able to strategically use this connection for the purpose of exerting even more control over people.

Thank you for this forum! Without it I couldn't sit through the meetings!
by stuckinarut2 inthe only way i can sit through the meetings is due to having my tablet and connection to this forum!.
since awakening, i can't believe how much i cringe each and every meeting when i hear all the propaganda and garbage spewed out from the bible and the society!.
i only cope by venting on here.. (plus it is so easy when sitting at the back of the hall or on the sound control box... hahaha).

Is all I have to say is "been there done that and bought the t-shirt." Your expreience is one that has been replicated by many before you, including myself.
Take a deep breath and understand that you have a long journey ahead. But, it will be worth the effort.

Is it selfish to enjoy life?
by new hope and happiness ini mean there are some great debates running on this forum :-.
what is spirit exactly?.
what is love?.

Don't take no crap from NO ONE!. Enjoy life be happy and tell the world to F-off.
With this attitude you will find that the world really does not care about your happiness or sadness. Everyone has their own stinkin problems and are all consumed with their own sh*t. You are the last person on their minds.

Being selfish is not a bad thing. Feeling guilty for enjoying your life is bad. Remember that life is a gift. You better enjoy it because there are no returns.

should there be a rule against posting PMs ?
by MissFit inmost people feel that it is unethical to post private messages.. how ever there does not seem to be a posting rule against it.. some people unfamiliar with posting on boards may not realize that it is not done to post private messages .
( even though it would seem self evident with the word private in it.).
so what do you think about making it an official posting rule?.
-
NewYork44M
I rarely get PMs and I have never gotten any that seem offensive.
