it was announced at our meeting tonight that our co (who is actually a pretty good sort) and his wife have been reassigned as regular pioneers.
they are both relatively young (50s) and have been used extensively by the society recently.
as far as i know there are no personal issues.
It sounds like he got fired. One can suspect the reason based upon your first comment: "who is actually a pretty good sort"
That kind of attitude will get you no where in this organization. Moving to pioneer essentially means he will have a brief transition before he become a heavy poster on JWN. I look forward to his comments.

as with john cleese's apoplectic performance, there is never any admission that the "preaching" work, door to door in particular, is dead and has been for some time.
It has long since died as a means of obtaining recruits or even collecting donations. However, the field service concept allows the society to control the r&f. It is a source of coercive control and keeps the minions busy.

moley i just loved your thread on life in the new system but i was also wondering what will happen if old testament patriachs such as noah, abel, moses and others decide they do not want to be jws in the new system will they be destroyed by jehovah and jesus after all of their faithful service?
i have always wondered about this because they are not guranteed everlasting life until they past the final test after the 1000 year reign of jesus.
what happens if moses is angry with jehovah after he is reserrected and cannot believe it took so long 4000 years for the great tribulation will he be wiped out instantly.
Good questions, but the whole concept is kind of creepy. Here is a dilemma that I struggled with:
When a Baptist (or any other religion) is resurrected, will this person then conclude that their religious faith is what saved them? How will they then react when a post Armageddon JW knocks on their door and tells them that the only reason they are in paradise is that they were lucky enough to die before the Great Tribulation - and if they don't change their ways they will be destroyed.
jw app now plays videos and everyone is complaining because they don't work.

today i was at the meeting (i go there about once a month now).
in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".
our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.
Guilt is such a wonderful concept. It is highly effective. Or, at least it gets a response. The problem with using a coercive tool like guilt is that you will get activity, just probably not the activity that you want.

ok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......
Don't punish yourself - at least not yet. Your punishment will be in August when you actually pioneer. I hope you have figure out the round of numbers routine to help make your hours count. And besides, what are the required hours now to pioneer - 30? You can get those done before noon on a Saturday morning.
