  Your Least Favorite "Special" JW Event

  there's a few "special" jw events that happen throughout the year.

  in case you've forgotten them, i'll list them (in case i've forgotten one, please refresh me):.

  the 3 (sometimes more) day district convention .

  My least favorite in order:

  1. The Circuit Overseer's Visit

  2. The Special Talk

  3. The District Convention

  4. The 2 Day Circuit Assembly (remember when it started Friday night and ended Sunday night?)

  The Memorial was ok if it landed on a meeting night. Generally the memorial was 45 minutes versus at least an hour for the other meetings. However, you always had those over zealous congregations that rescheduled the regular meetings.

  Speaking of boring memorials, do you remember about 15 - 20 years ago they gave the memorial talk and after it ended someone else got up and talked for another 20 minutes. I am still mad about that.

  Do you think that "JW's" will get rid of the "Paradise earth" doctrine?

  with all of the changes regarding the 1935 closing of the heavenly calling that jw's taught for over 70 years what will be the next thing to go in their doctrinal system.

  will they one day say"we were wrong the earth is going to burn up and all christians will go to heaven".

  russell was right after all and yes the "great crowd" will indeed go to heaven.nothing suprises me anymore with the jw's.

  May be a hundred years from now when we are all dead. But there will be no change. Why should there be? It is the one thing that sets them apart at the "one true religion." And provides a nice contrast to all those other mainstream religions directed by satan.

  for me, it was the un debacle.

  their association and weak retreat was priceless.

  after that, silentlambs ranks right up there.. of course, if it were not for ray franz, many of us would've never even thought about leaving!.

  My first step was the 607/586/1914 connection. Not only the dates but the interconnection of unrelated scriptures to come up with a conclusion. My fate was sealed when the "new light" came in 1995.

  Second, the misapplication of scriptures related to the Great Trib, the convoluted application of Matt 24.

  Finially, I hated having my life directed by a few very old men with no life expreience. I wanted a life, a career, success, and happiness. I was getting none of what I wanted and needed to change directions.

  2007 "Follow the Christ" DC of JW

  are you looking forward to the 2007 dc?it will be the best ever.will you be there for fellowship and association?have you started making preparations?have you requested time off work?have you booked your hotel room?what will your goal be at the dc this year?

  all very good questions.. why is the 2007 convention special?

  because you are invited.you will be given a special invitation.in fact,there is a worldwide campaign to advertise this convention with a special handbill.per km02/07 is the fallowing presentation"this is your invitation to an upcoming important yearly event.you will be warmly welcomed.

  Anyone seen a Memorial talk outline?

  if i remember correctly, someone last year posted the memorial talk outline a week or so before the memorial.. does anyone have access to this year's outline?

  .

  i'm curious because of the new wt article that basically backs away from teaching that the 144,000 were all chosen by 1935. i'd like to see how it is mentioned in this year's talk because, as we all know, the memorial talk is more about the anointed and how they alone partake than it is about jesus..

  The GB and Field Service Activity

  i was thinking... does the members of the governing body participate in field service?

  if these are men who are to take their place in heaven with jesus christ, then shouldn't they be the ones fearlessly leading the charge?

  when jesus was here on earth, his disciples went on to preach about him long after jesus had died.

  I have given this experience on this board before, but because of the topic I will repeat.

  I lived in Brooklyh Heights for several years. Every once in a while I would see Schroeder and his wife in front of the Towers building doing street witnessing. Schroeder was confined to a wheelchair and semi comatose. He had two mags pinned to his jacket with two young bethelites standing as bodyguards next to him.

  He clearly had no idea what was going on and was quite a sight. But he got his 15 minutes in for field service.

  His wife appears to be a very sweet old lady. I gave her a big hug the last time I saw her and she offer me the mags.

  Who pays for the memorial wine ?

  I always remember someone donating the wine. They got to take it home afterwards. I did the accounts for many years and only remember paying for flowers for the memorial.

  Some one was also in charge of making the bread.

  Please help me understand new blood policy...

  hello everyone, i just need some help and maybe a history lesson about the wt's current blood policy, and how it differs from the past.

  i was discussing this with my wife (inactive dub) and she said the wt has always allowed blood fractions.

  is the current fraction amount nearly equal to whole blood?

  The new policy basically says that if you chop blood up into small enough pieces then it is ok.

  It does not make sense, but I don't think it is supposed to.
