The good ol' days of the society was the late 60s and early 70s. Those days are gone. The framework of beliefs are gone. The zeal is gone. Those still in are just going through the motions.

Wasn't this Penn & Teller show on Showtime a few years back. I watched it several times. Agreed with most of what they said. In regards to Elvis, I never understood what the fascination was with him.

It will be interesting to see if the content and presentation is the same as compared to prior years. I suspect that if the wt sees numbers on the decline the presentation of the statistics will drastically change.

Exciting announcements at service meeting
by truthseeker inwe've already had a post on this, but there were other interesting comments.. the brother giving the announcements said that there would be a new understanding of jesus' reference to the generation as discussed at the annual meeting.. an elder giving a service meeting part review of different watchtower articles from the current year brought out the new light concerning 1935.. he asks: "when is the sealing of the anounted ones?".
elder answers: "there is no specific date".
later after the meeting, i asked an elder if the new understanding of the remnant now meant that younger people could go to heaven.. he answered with an affirmative "yes" and that we would be getting the new understanding of the generation jesus spoke of in a future 2008 watchtower.. .

I agree. I am a little unclear as to why some sort of announcement would come at a service meeting. Was this a rogue elder getting ahead of the chariot?
If true. Are they then going to say that the 144K is just a figurative number?

I have a very good friend who is Muslim. He brought me some leftovers from the feast of the end of Ramadan. We sat in Central Park and ate and talked about life.
I will never be a part of any religious organization. However, my Muslim friend is one of the most peace loving person and closest friend that I have ever known.

15however, she will be kept safe through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and sanctification along with soundness of mind.. so how do yall interpretate this scripture?.
is it saying that it was eve's fault, that adam was not deceived.
