My point here is: why did they cut assembly days? why have they chopped magazines down to a pathetic 16 pages? why have they told people to print your own Daily Text and Calendar?
Of course the answer to all of this is the money. Follow the money and you will find your answer. The field service used to be a revenue center - selling magazines. Now, it is a cost center - every magazine given away is a cost. Thus, the goal is to get rid of costs. Do away with anything that costs money.
They have found the next cash cow - real estate. We see how the focus is now on selling old building at market prices and building with free labor. Great gig.
To a point I attempted to make earlier - any changes to the preching activity will be driven by reducing costs and without consideration to how it impact the r&f.

Can anyone disprove 607 BCE date using only the NWT and WT literature?
by Bart Belteshassur ini haven't come across any arguement that does not involve secular history and external references.
in fact the wt can not get to 607 bce without using external sources as in knowing that they need to get back from 1914 ce to 607 bce, and botching an argument using an external date as reference to create their start point at 537 bce.. i realize that to get the final date we must provide a fixed figure from somewhere which can only be a historical source, but the objective would be to disprove the wt flim flam.
once that is achieve we can use which ever fixed historical point they wish to chose.

by flipper inwell - i had been wanting to do this for a long time , to question a legal department representative at bethel about the child abuse settlements and jw child abuse, since last year when the news came out about it.
especially since my dad , an elder for years was never aware of it and has on his own taken steps to see that families with children are informed if a former pedophile is in their congregation.
i was curious as to what the current views and policies in place are .

So are you predicting something Metatron? If there is a change it wont be driven by the desire to be kind to the r&f, it will be because something else is invented to keep everyone busy and not thinking.
Or, it will be driven by dollars. For example, perhaps a lawsuit determines that these volunteers are actually employees and the society is liability via workers compensation insurance. If something like that were to happen I can assure you there will be a change.

Remember that the Watchtower prophesy makers did not realize there was no zero year, so they started with the date of 606. Once they realized their error they then simultaneously realized the 606 date was in error in the exact proportion to the extra zero year.
Once I realized this fact I began to question pretty much everything.

I was never asked to give advice related to depression. Which was a good thing because I was suffering my own depression because of the cult. If asked I hope my advice would be to LEAVE!
However, I was once on a shepherding call with another elder and we met with a sister that had some desperate financial problems. I gave her advice for which I was qualified to give. I felt good about that and I hope she listed to what I said. Neither she nor the other elder were aware that I was pursuing an education which culminated in a CPA and PhD in accounting.

Circuit Overseer cutbacks?

they are both relatively young (50s) and have been used extensively by the society recently.
as far as i know there are no personal issues.
