Hi yedell2,
I've been reading your posts and I can see that you still feel that the WTS is Gods chosen orginization.
I'm not da'd nor df'd but I am inactive.
And that is because I can't see how they can be Jehovahs Orginization when they have gotten so many things wrong.
i.e. biblical teachings,pophecies,ect.......
I used to think that it was because they were human and were prone to make mistakes but they (WTS) have claimed to be Jehovahs mouthpiece.
They have said that Jehovah is using them to dispense spititual food.
They have said that they are the Faithful and Discreet Slave. Part of the 144,000 that they say will be in Heaven with God.
They have said that the Org. is Jehovahs wife.
So to make such claims does indeed put them on a level equivelent with the prophets of old.Does it not?
And they have stated that one must be part of the orginization in order to be saved in the "Great Tribulation" and basically they're saying we must go thru them to get to Jehovah. Correct?
What did Jesus say?
"No one comes to the Father a except through Me".
So the org. is putting themselves on the same level as Jesus. Correct?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not putting you down for believing that they (WTS) are who they say they are.
I'm just wondering what you think about all of the flip flops in their teachings over the years? About the failed time prophecies? And about them making themselves the bridge between us and God?
Thanks,
neyank

Great Tribulation
by Friend ingreat tribulation.
the biblical text of matthew 24:21 speaks of a great tribulation that, unless cut short, no flesh would be saved from.
jehovahs witnesses have often applied that scriptural text as having a major and minor fulfillment; one fulfillment associated with jerusalems destruction in 70 ad and a later fulfillment just prior to the end of this worlds system of things.

Do you still attend meetings?
by Sassenach ini'm wondering if you still attend meetings?
do you hold out hope for the watchtower organization?
if you've left entirely, have you found another form of worship?

Hi Sassenach,
I tried to go back to the meetings but all I did during them was think about what I was learning about the WTS.
I felt like a complete hypocrite being there.
And of course they would always discuss how we needed to put in more hours in service.
I couldn't go out in service anymore.
Yes,Jesus said the Good News will be preached but the WTS wasn't preaching the same Good News Jesus was talking about.
Their idea of the Good News was become a JW and follow our rules no matter how many times they change and believe whatever we tell you even if we keep changing our teachings and God just might love you and save you during armageddon.

Is it humanly possible....
by SixofNine in...to read "crisis of concience" and continue on believing that the organization is (or ever was) gods organization?
-
neyank
I've read both books.
Crisis of Concience & In Search of Christian Freedom.
I've been inactive ever since.
I couldn't continue going to the meetings after learning about how the WTS really operated.
And I certainly couldn't go out in service telling people that if they wanted to worship God properly they had to become a JW.

How Many?
by neyank inhi all,.
reading the 1914 thread brought a question to mind.. how many of us became jws because of witnesses coming to our doors telling us that christ came into power invisibly in 1914 and this generation that saw those events would not pass away untill all those things took place?.
i.e.the new system coming.satan bound for a thousand years.people becoming perfect.ect,ect........ neyank

Hi Mommy,
As they got older they decided that they didn't want to be involved with the WTS even though at that time I still thought it was the "truth".
They had their own reasons for not wanting to become JWs.
But they still remember everything that they were taught when they were younger about the WTS being the "truth",that we were in the last days,ect,ect...
Now that I have found out everything that I have about the WBTS I have to tell them that I was wrong to have forced them to believe that the JWs were the right religion,That they (WTS) were the only way to God.
The bad thing about it is, I can never give them the childhoods that they didn't have.(if that makes sense)

Hi Mommy,
Sounds strange saying that to someone who's not my mommy. lol
I know how you feel. Even though I didn't grow up in the org. my kids did. I remember telling them arageddon was just around the corner. All the badness was going to be wiped out. Ect....
Now I have to tell them something different.

Hi Simon,
That's what I was thinking. If we fell for their (the WTS) teaching on 1914,and we became involved with them because of it,and it proved to be a false teaching, then shouldn't we,those of us who left because they were wrong about that date,be free to just walk away?
After all, didn't they (WTS) get us involved with them under false pretenses?
O.K. Any lawyers here? lol

It's a sad story. But it's all too common for things like this to be happening thruout the world.
We,in the USA can't fathom living under those conditions. And yet even in this country unspeakable atrocities can and do occur.
Sometimes people are no better than animals. The cruelty one can inflict upon another......... What can be said about it.
Even if we have found that the WTS is not Gods chosen orginization,
things like this show that we still need God.
Only He can straiten out this mess that we as humans have made.
