  do you know why so many people are leaving the "truth"?

  it's because they all figured out that they really were going to die.

  once a witness understands that millions now living will indeed die, they begin to regress from the witness spirituality.

  No. I don't agree.

  I think for the most part, people leave the WTS because they refuse to live a lie anymore.

  The reason for being a JW is because they feel that the WTS has the 'truth'.

  If that IS the reason for being a JW, and you find out that the WTS really doesn't have the 'truth', what should be done?

  Should you continue being a JW and pretend not to know that the WTS is wrong?

  Should you continue going door to door teaching the same lies that you were taught?

  Should you continue worshipping the Governing Body of the WTS?

  No. Most people that left the WTS that I know did so because they could not live a lie.

  Being self-centered & materialistic have nothing to do with it.

  It's more like being honest with yourself and refusing to worship a man made orginization.
  Knowing that in the long run,by worshipping a man made orginization actually puts a person at odds with God.

  But I'm curious minimus.
  Why are you asking this?

  i posted an update on hubby's scan.

  but i had a comment to make about the jehvah's witnesses which i will still have some contact with for a litte while.

  hubby has always believed it to be the "truth" and always will.

  I don't want to sound cold but,
  what do you expect from a publishing company?

  The caring for your fellow man is only done if you're at the meetings 5 times a week and out selling, placing and distributing thier literature.

  The WTS has these people so blinded that selling magazines at the doors is the only Christian duty that one must do.

  The fruits of the spirit is not on thier list as being as important than placing magazines with ever changing information in them.

  So it's no wonder that most JWs will not go out of thier way to care for a fellow human being.

  I'm not saying that thier aren't individual JWs that really are caring and show it but, for the most part that is not as important as doing what the WTS tells, comands and demands them to do.

  And you know what that is??????

  Yes you guessed it!!!

  Be at all the meetings and get out in field service selling thier mags.

  I hope things work out for you two.

  sometimes, the gender of a poster is relatively easy to deduce due to their style of posting, and, dare i say it, their choice of vocabulatory.

  but sometimes it is difficult to know if you are "talking" to a man or a woman (or homosexual).

  many people on this board expressedthat they dont want to live forever.

  when do you want to die?.

  for me: 1. the day i cant take care of my bodily functions and am paralyzed from the neck down or 2. when i am 100years old.

  i'm just about to tuck into a $100 meal when some ignorant b*****d lights up.

  when nobody lets me out of the side road onto the freeway.

  Drivers that drive like crazy to get in front of you and then slow down.

  People that constantly complain but don't do anything to solve the problems.

  People that throw cigarete buts out the windows of cars.
  I guess they don't wany to dirty thier ashtray.

  Spoiled kids. For that matter, spoiled adults too.

  Unapreciative people that think everything should be handed to them.

  People that think they know everything.

  People that put thier trash out days before trash day only to have animals tear the trash apart and get it all over the neighborhood.

  Thanks for that apocalypse.

  A lot of work went into it.

  If the r&f JW gave the teaching of the FDS more study, they would find that the teaching is full of falsehoods.
  And thus, the WTS would lose its power over peole.

  Events leading to Great Tribulation

  i have believed that the great tribulation begins with some sort of nuclear attack on the united states.. events are emerging which increase the probability of such an event.. the archrivals at the end scene are the us and russia.

  russia is in a dire state.

  its economy hangs by a thread.

  We cannot say that these things won't happen.
  I'm sure if anyone asked us before 9/11, if we thought someone could fly planes full of people into buildings we would have said no way.
  That it could not happen here.
  Well,It did.

  But these things don't mean that Armageddon is here.
  And it certainly doesn't mean that the WTS is right.
  The WTS has already proven itself to be a false prophet.

  Besides, isn't there supposed to be other things that have to happen before the big A arives?
