Hello...
by Atticus ini used to post over at h2o a long time ago and thought i would drop in and say hello.
i am very glad that someone has taken the time to set up another place where ideas about jehovahs witnesses can be freely posted and discussed.
this type of place is a great public service for people who are just starting to see through the thick fog and who are just beginning to recognize cracks in that grandiose, self-serving, anything-but-ivory, tower that has the gall to refer to itself as the truth.

Hello Atticus,
I also use to post at H20. Under the name Yankee.
As with you, I started to research the WTS on line when I started to have questions.
I came up with a lot more info.that I thought was out there.
There are many here that were elders,ms,ect..
I was just your average r&f member that thought the WTS was really Gods chosen org.
Welcome to the group.

Questions for DFShipped...
by LDH inhi, dfs.. first of all, let me say it is not necessary to label yourself on this board, or anywhere on the internet for that matter.. so many of us have family members that are df'd, it really doesn't hold much water round here.
i did have some questions for you though, which of course you don't have to answer.. 1. why were you disfellowshipped?
(pls.

Hi cmac,
Only read the book if you realy want to know how the WBTS operates.
He has the insight into the JW religion that few have had.
He has facts to back up what he says.
It is not a book displaying his hatred for JWs.
On the contrary,he cares deeply for those that are being mislead. He has also written another book called In Search of Christian Freedom.
Another well written and informative book.As far as those that are afraid to read those books, ask yourselves why.
Why is an orginization afraid of those books? Why has the WTS told their followers not to read them?
What are they afraid of if they indeed have the truth?neyank

Who's Going to the Memorial??
by Prisca injust wondering..... for those of us who are inactive, or have serious doubts, etc etc... are you going to the memorial, even though you don't fully agree with how they explain things?.
anyone planning to have their own at home?.
or are you still planning on going, even if it's to say g'day to long "lost" friends?.

WHY ? !!!
by somebody inthe very first scripture cited under the "sharing on a judicial committee" in the elders book is duet.
1:16. here are a million questions!
how do members let the higher -ups use a scripture from the ot where moses was speaking to isreal, and completely disregard jesus' words?

Hi ianao,
Yes. Your right.
The Pharicies were following the Mosaic Law and the elders follow WTS law.
I was trying to show how the attitude of the elders mimicks the attitude of the Pharicies.
Thanks,

Something about the Memorial started bugging me when I started questioning the WTS teachings.
It's true that it is a solemn event. Remembering what Jesus did for us. Contemplating the meaning of the sacrifice that was done on behalf of all people.
But what bugged me was the fact that as the emblems were being passed around, everyone was watching to see if anyone in attendance was partaking.
I started to feel that the importance of what Christ did was being lessened and more focus was being put on whether or not someone was going to patake of the emblems.
That everyone was mesmorized waiting to see if there was actually an "anointed" person in attendance.
I started to feel that celebrating the Memmorial was just another gimmick to keep the r&f in line. What do you all think about this?

Hi Somebody,
We can safely equate the Wts-Elders with the scribes and Pharicies in Jesus' day.
Everything is black and white for them. Good and bad.
They leave no room for any in between. This brings to mind the parable Jesus gave about the Good Samaritan.
Picture the Pharicies Being Elders. There was a df'd da'd or inactive JW lying on the side of the road injured.
Elder #1 walks by saying to himself, " I can't help him. They're not a JW any longer. That person is evil.Elder #2 walks by saying to himself, " I can't help that person. They don't believe that the WTS is Gods chosen Orginization. They even have the audacity to question the teachings of the "Slave".
Next walks by a person that is df'd, da'd or inactive. He says to himself," I must help that person. They are in need of aid. So the df'd, da'd or inactive person bandages the wounds of the wounded person. Then proceeds to take him to a hospital where he stays until he is healed.
Which person would God smile on?
Which person is displaying the charactoristics of what a real Christian should display according to Jesus?neyank
