  Thoughts during the meeting today

  while i'm politely sitting during the meeting today, restraining myself from rolling my eyes as the brother drones on about how "having an independent spirit is devilish in nature" and "independence from gods organization only results in pain and strife", i only have one thought going through my mind over and over.

  "what would happen if i pulled out a gun and blew my brains out in this kingdom hall?".

  would anyone notice or care?

  MarkofCane You said it! I do think that the meetings and the information in them has really gone downhill in the last 5 years or so.

  As an elder for a long time I tried to give parts that were practical, and realistic. Love and mercy were always the points I wanted to talk about, not the crap we are so used to hearing now.

  i stopped attending meetings all together in january 2015. before that my attendance was irregular at best.

  my husband followed suit a few months ago after months of research, agony, and indecision on his part.

  from the very beginning i laid low and did not share with anyone what i found out about the witnesses because i did not want to be df'd.

  they promised that the nwt revised would be available in so many languages by now, and they have failed miserably.. english stands alone.

  as a result, they are in damage control mode.

  In time, the revised New World Translation will be made available in more languages. Satan tries to block such efforts, but we trust that Jehovah wants to have all his people listen as he speaks to them in clear, understandable language.

  HOW? BY shutting down Branch Offices and Laying of thousands of Bethelites?

  SORRY! No one can!!!! When someone dies - the can't be revived! The fact that they did NOT die - means the did NOT die! Because your heart stops, or your vitals drop to 0 is NOT death. Death is more complex than just that. Those are not the FINAL signs of death. When an organism is dead, nothing can change that, not even the great dog Jeehooberr.

  And by the way, the aspects of these Not Dead Experiences can all be explained!

  Read books by -The Tell-Tale Brain or Phantoms in the Brain: Probing the Mysteries of the Human Mind by Vilayanur S. Ramachandran

  There is NO need for SUPERNATURAL occurrences to explain them.

  Midweek meeting

  almost two months into the change in format of the mid week meeting from the school and service meeting format to the christian life and ministry (clam) format.

  in my congregation, seems attendance is down 10-15% over the normally low attendance for the mid week meeting before the change.

  some indicate that the meeting under the clam format is very "intense"...you really need to study and research to be able to participate or get anything out of the meetings.

  Fulano - how insane is that?
  People graduate from Astrophysics, and Quantum Mechanics, and Neurosurgery!

  But us poor JW saps can not be taught well enough after years to find an interesting article in a 3rd grade reading level magazine and introduce it to someone at the door?

  Nor did the school help anyone enough to graduate to the level where they could take one of the JW basic books, and just go over paragraphs and ask the questions with a "Bible Study".

  And we as you say - proudly say its a school you never graduate from. WTF!

  Lisa Rose - the only thought in meetings now is to keep people busy busy busy, and enforce the One Thought that you MUST obey the GB no matter what, and ALL outside information is Apostate driven lies.

  What kind of "teaching" organization, that has had a "ministry school" for 60 years, is sooooo bad at teaching its followers, that it needs after all this time VIDEOS and DEMOS to teach suposed "teachers" how to F-ING present a magazine?????

  Realy? JWs are so stupid that they can't present a magazine without a video every month presented by obviously ethnic (because no one else is getting baptised I guess) voices?

  Imagine if you went to a school (sat harvard) and after 10 years you were still getting instruction on how to properly take notes.

  A question on natural selection

  last friday my boy of ten was very late back from school, so i called the school, they called the police, and to cut a long horrible exsperience short he had been helping a younger boy fly his kite.. but what has occurred to me is that when orlando was 5 years old he was totally dependent on mummy and daddy, whilst horses, cats, birds and other animals are born and are independent within days.. so my question on natural selection is, how are we humuns still here?.

  Evolution and Atheism - please help

  not being familiar with either, my question is:.

  what is the relationship between evolution and atheism?.

  i'd love to hear from anyone and everyone, and also from any perspective.. without limiting the conversation in any way, i would of course also appreciate comments that are simple, clear, direct and correct (as i don't have the capacity to do a phd in evolution or atheism)..
