Americans aren't allowed to grow their own food?

i was recently told by an american i was chatting to online that in the usa people are not allowed to grow their own food.

she said that if you have a vegetable patch or something that the government will come along and bulldoze it?

she said that farmers are not allowed to grow food either and that the government bulldozes the crops if they grow?.

JWLEAKS - THANKS! What an insane article. A good example of the crazy logic and poor writing that is SOP.

Retirement and physical illness are also major triggering factors, especially among the elderly. Often suicide is chosen as a way out, ( REALLY OFTEN? IT HAPPENS A LOT? OFTEN MEANS A LOT!!!) not necessarily when an illness is terminal, but when the patient views the suffering as intolerable.

However, not everybody reacts to these triggering events by committing suicide. (REALLY NOT EVERYONE? BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN LIVING ON MARS SO I THOUGHT I WAS NORMAL FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS ECONOMIC STRESS OR IS OLD JUST KILLS THEMSELVES - THANK FOR THE INSIGHT!)

What kind of article is this? This type of writing could NEVER appear in any credible journal - let alone a High School Language Arts assignment! I HATE THE WT!

Last assembly we heard about people going to college to get buildings named after them and to be famous.

How many people do you know who went to college to get a building named after them?

I was unaware of those course being available?

But I guess people who go to - become nurses, and elementary school teachers, and marine biologists, and accountants, and surveyors - are REALLY Puffed Up With Pride and looking to be GREAT!! Can't argue with that I guess.

i know this has been discussed before, but i think some of these wacky (but thought-provoking) comments deserve their own thread.. paragraph 6 says: modestly, anointed ones acknowledge that they do not necessarily have more holy spirit than those with an earthly hope.

they do not claim to have special knowledge or revelations; neither do they try to prove that they are in some way superior.

somebody needs to send this memo to the gb.

I will have to school you again:) See some people suffer from Post Traumatic Stress - say like having been involved in a Proxy War in the Far East and seen many atrocities like people being turned into Human Hot Dogs.

That kind of event can lead you to thinking you are ultra special and dog can't do without you in heaven.

It can also make you very judgmental about unimportant matters, like how tight fabric is, or where someone choose to put their penis.

death at the 'memorial'

i just got the news from our former congregation in hollister, ca regarding a tragic event following the 'memorial' wednesday night.

we shared the kh with 2 spanish congos.. a couple from the spanish congregation were leaving the kh so that the next spanish congo could have their 'memorial'.

they exited the parking lot in their car when hit by an oncoming car right in front of the kh.

Magnum very true.

The issue is - so many JW claim intervention (which by the way is a Miracle) for the most trivial matters.
I have heard the most silly claims, such as, parking spots opening up in service, or a call being home when they just needed to have some success that morning, or getting the car they prayed for.

So god steps in for that - but not for loyal friends going to memorial?
Wow he has some sense of humor.

I thought about that for a long time.

Really Jesus walked the earth and raised the dead, and then he gave magical powers to his Apostles, and supposedly "the world was full of their teachings" - and yet they did not accumulate 144K followers in that first 100 years?
