Great pick-up LTPF - thanks.
I would love to know what the "brother" thinks as he does this. This is not an accident.
Some years back I started to see this pattern when I was preparing major Convention talks.
I actually looked up ALL the references - not to find fault - but to really know the subject better than anyone there - and not to just be a parrot.
I started to become really disturbed by the MANY quotes take out of context.
Even then - when I was in - I found I had to omit things that just were untrue.I doubt all but a small % of elders actually look up any reference material sadly.

Being a father - I just can't imagine what it would be like to be a parent in this situation.
I completely understand the desire to end horrible suffering of your child, and I can't imagine I would have the strength to allowing it.
Talk about dammed if you do and if you don't.
My heart goes out to any parent who has to deal with situations like this.

then i ask them to explain elders book page 38 paragraph 19, which say it's sometimes ok for elder who has committed immorality and has kept it secret to continue serving as elder.

Why start preaching work in 1876? Something to ask JW's who are still in
by fedup inwe learn from the bible that the characters that preached doomsday messages, such as lot, noah, etc all got to see the result of the message they preached, we studied that the final judgement from god was seen by the preacher as well as the people that heard and ignored the message.
my point is this, it would have been ridiculous for noah to start preaching to people, put the fear of god in all the listeners that the flood is coming, build the ark and then as a result, nothing happens to them.
even if the flood would have happened later, let's say 50 years after noah and all the people that heard him have died from natural causes.

Excellent point! I have been crystallizing the same thought linked with the unimportance of 1914 for while now.
But you have the gist of my idea.
To the point - with that reasoning - why didnt the preaching work start 200 years or 1000 years ago - or never stop after Jesus?The last day of 1914 just doesn't make sense on that level, and the Overlapping Generations does not fix it.
Lets never mind that world conditions have dramatically been improving since jesus day, so the bible prophecy is BS as is the catalog of Nostradamus:)
