He does what ever the GB says he does.
That way they can spin it how ever they need it to be.
if god foresee/foretell future, he could definitely have foreseen the communication revolution we experience today and sent jesus in the first half of 21st century [instead of first century] where the whole world could watch him performing miracles live as we watched will tsai, a young japanes visualist who brings dead fish back to life in america's got talent 2017—especially because god’s will is that “everyone is to be saved” (1 timothy 2:4)-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9af4wvd6cz0.
if god does foresee future, it would mean that incident are foreordained in which case it is not foreseeing.
but truth is that he has not fixed events.

jehovah’s witnesses and the picnic extinction.
(“those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end…”).
it was another world back then; another time and another place.. you had to have been there to have any sense of it--as a young, impressionable jehovah’s witness under the watchtower presidency of nathan h. knorr--social gatherings (backyard bbq’s, swimming parties) among the ‘friends’ consisted of having a great time at a get together or a picnic.
Terry I still dont get why it took 30 years if there was such an outpouring?

Vandenhoover7 - 1914 cant ever go and the Cult survive.
Just like Service cant go.
DFing cant go.
Blood cant go (they have pushed to the limit with the fractions).
Mandatory meetings cant go.
GB being the voice of god cant go.
These are all the mechanisms that keep the Cult together.

TerryWalstrom2 days ago2 days ago2 days ago2 days agoThe pushback (re oral sex) was a gigantic tsunami back in the 70's and I'm pretty sure it must have scared the crap out of the GB.
Terry - what pushback are you talking about? I was to young to really know what was going on, but I can not imagine ANY of the married couples in my hall - openly opposing the GB on that?
I am interested to know more about what you may know about that time?
Also why did it take them 30 years to do the 180?
Interesting to Note:
As an elder I did notice in the 2000's that any time Oral or Anal sex was mentioned at Assemblies - that it was only in relation to Pre Marital Sex - and that if "you dont think that counts as sex your wrong".
It was obvious to me that they made an effort to not link it to marriage in a way they did in the past.
if i'm tierd i fall asleep anywere so the meetings ect were no diffrent my wife would always try to wake me but im a deep sleeper.

At outdoor Conventions - when it was 90 and sitting in the sun at Phily.
so, so much has happened in my life over the years and continues to happen, but i won't go into the details as it would take a long time.. i don't really know why, but i returned to "the truth" 15 years ago.
in 2012 when the tv broadcasting station launched, i started to develop doubts.
the australian royal commission and other scandals made me angrier, and i now don't believe most of the core teachings.. the only reason i show up at 5 or 6 meetings each month is to keep in contact with my parents and a few other family members.. but it's killing me, literally.
Its very very hard. You are dammed if you do and if you don't.
There are always unintended consequences no matter what path you take.
Just know many of us know what you are going through.
We are here to support you in the small ways we can.
i was recently told this by a jw family member when trying to get through to them.
does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?
or is that just my wishful thinking?
Chook hit it right on the nose.
( i remember thinking and saying it too, so let's not forget may of use were there at some point.)
They are just hedging their bets, so as to justify not waisting their lives

Funny at a circuit assembly about 5 years back, a DO brought that up in a talk.
He pointed out how the was BAD reasoning.
How if it wasn't the Truth - you are wasting your time and should be looking elsewhere.
Of course, he spent the rest of the talk identifying why it was the Truth.
here are my notes from the r.c yesterday, the talk called "jehovah – the greatest example of endurance".
many of you will understand why i found it offensive.. jehovah has taken the hard option of choosing to endure:.
reproach to his holy name.
What a joke.
gluttony seems to be a sin that jw's like to ignore .there are several scriptures that point out that gluttony is a sin, proverbs 23:20-21 "do not join those who gorge themselves on meat".....also i read somewhere that 1% is the number of disfellowshipped jw's each year......how do prove someone is a glutton and not just a person who love food???
?.
haaaaa thats funny!
