  Do They Still do Door-to-Door as Much as Before?

  since the advent of the trolleys do the majority of jws still go door to door like we used to?.

  do they still have meetings for field service on sat mornings and sun afternoons where most head off to the local territory while one or two go to do trolley work or has the importance of door to door work reduced?.

  with the reduction of printing wts and awakes what will they offer at the doors?.

  So many people just drive around to calls that wont be home over and over waiting to get to their favorite Coffee shop.

  Two coins of little value? Ok! Sure (!)

  last thursday meeting was the verbal begging bowl item.

  in which having told the audience that wt doesn't ask for money... proceeded to then ask for money.. among the usual scriptures cited "honor god with your valuable things" etc was also the widows mite story "she dropped in two coins of little value..".

  and it occurred to me, two coins of little value in the uk would be two one penny coins!

  sparrowdown30 minutes ago30 minutes ago30 minutes agoAny halfway useful illustration that was part of any JW talk I ever heard was usually stolen from pop psychology.

  ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

  There have been so many bad or false ones used. Or totally made up and presented as fact.

  That's because 99% of speakers are HACKS!

  I took it very seriously and actually got professional training to be very good at it.
  That turned out to be a waste of time and money now.

  By the way on PUBLIC SPEAKING.

  Even though there is a 'so-called school' for JW to learn how to speak, I found that not more than 1 or 2% were actually good at it.

  Imagine if that was the success rate for say Harvard or Princeton?

  Nothing you could have learned that is beneficial from being a JW that could not have been picked up in a 100 other places, books, TV show...

  If you go to college, by the way, you learn public speaking as well.

  thats somthing i see thats asked in my kingdom hall if you want to go get more than 2 years in collage.thing in some one asking that to me or etc i cant say any thing or that would show that i dont believe.. i hate when some one askes me that when i try to plan ahead when it comes to what job i want.what job would help me hold my own but no god will give if you put him first.i dont believe in god even when i did i never buyed into that.. it seems you cant get away from the question im only 13 and i get that question theres no getting away from it..

  Illogicality of preaching

  not all scripture is god-breathed.

  there are verses that also dishonor god.

  for example, subject of preaching seems to be too illogical even though it is the very basis of many sects [especially of jw organization which defines itself as the preaching organization].
