A Little Direction Please

i'm an active elder, cobe, just got home from the meeting where i handled the treasures part and concluded by announcing a friend of mine has been d/f,.....blah blah blah...and over the last year have woken up.

i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.

i have zero desire to bash, spread my feelings, or become an "apostate".

So the way I did it was...

I started to tell my wife about the disturbing things that were happening in elders meetings. How so much is not how Jesus would have done things or would want things done.

How direction from the GB is now done to protect them from litigation and leave the elders open to problems.

How assembly parts with interviews are often not true, that COs make people change what they say.

How so so many quotes in article and talks are really inaccurate or lies.

The whole change in Donations - giving money from the hall to the GB - the promise of thousands of halls and then NONE. The continued asking for money.

How we are not Teachers anymore - how everything is dumbed down, and elders are not even instructed to be good teachers.

How the Carts could not be closer to what the scripture talked about "being peddlers of the truth"

All to the point of how disturbed I was with things and how they go against what Jesus taught, and how we are doing things that we accuse other religions of doing.

THIS GOT MY WIFE THINKING AND OUT ALL ON HER OWN.

Facing My Mortality And Becoming A Donor

this thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.

i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.

i asked her which organs.

pale - i went through the same thing. I signed my card last time I got my license renewed.

It was the time I totally realized I would die and that's it.

I was depressed.

have any of you heard some theories from jws that are not based on scripture?

i have, in the past few days, heard a couple that have me shaking my head.. first one is that since satan was around during the creation period and probably watched on as things were being made, it is possible that he is responsible for the creation of some of the more hideous and nasty creatures that live among us.

surely god wouldn't make horrible things.. second one is that satan already had a bad attitude before the creation of adam and eve and was collecting followers among the other angels early on and stirring trouble.

Yes - EVE was SOOOOO Perfect that...

A) A talking snake did not surprise her as being strange.
B) With only 46 words from the snake - she DUMPED GOD who just made her and gave her everything.

Makes perfect sense.

Faced with the reality of mortality

how have you all coped with facing the reality of our mortality?.

most of us were raised to firmly believe we would never get old or die... so here we are now having to face the reality that are getting older... we are going to die.. sometimes it really pisses me off that we were never helped to comprehend this most basic of facts.

we were given a utopian dream as a "fact", and hence never taught how to face our inevitable futures.... thoughts?.

I am having a really hard time.
Since I am well into middle age and have lost so so much, its not like there is much time to get any of that back. The back end of life is rapidly approaching.
I am having a hard time dealing with it:(

Asking for help with wife

hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening.

every time i try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it.

i believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for.

Are you going to meetings? How did you first tell her?
When you come out big time up front, its gonna be hard.
It is always better to help lead them to think on things with breadcrumbs.

The "I dont know how this fits" or "why would this change again" or "this doesnt seem like something jesus would do" ... "what do you think" questions.
