just wanted to ask a question of those who were born in as i was.. how did you feel to have been "privileged to have been born into the only true faith - the truth"?.
did this make you feel confident, or proud - or perhaps arrogant?.
how did you reconcile the fact that 99% of the earth's population was not born "into the truth"?.
I thought I had won the best lottery ever.
Looking back it really gave me licence to blow off many normal responsibilities because ...
A. they were not spiritual activities,
B. the new system would come soon so I didn't have to worry about my future,
C. because it is easy to become totally lazy about life when you are told the most important thing you can do is wander around your neighbourhood knocking on empty homes and looking for your next coffee break spot.
does anybody have any word on the 2018 annual meeting?
i assume something new will be rolled out, since they are having all the congregations do special weekend streaming.. my guess is that there will be some major "new light" concerning the memorial, partaking, anointed, etc.
i would guess that they will say all baptized believers should partake.
No doubt it will be the most important event of your spiritual life.
Evidently, you will be talking about being there when you are in the New System and Noah and David will be green with envy (then they will be killed for thinking bad thoughts).

An annulment is not going to get you considered "scripturally free".
If you had sex with her - your stuck.
If she fooled around and that's why you got the annulment, she would have to confess, then the marriage would be dissolved in a way to make you "scripturally free"
If you screwed around and she didn't, then she could divorce you and both be free but you would probably be DFed for Fing around.

well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).

This is the next step in REDUCING the speaking and teaching role of elders that started when the Book Study was taken out of homes. Since then, less and less is asked of elders when it comes to public speaking.
It is a bait and switch, much like "we are eliminating the RBC because we need SO MANY new KHs"
i've only just stopped laughing.. in my old hall there's a brother who's now claiming to be of the anointed.. he's 28.. i do wonder if he's doing this for attention, if he's awake and messing with them, or if he really is that deluded.
when i was in he was an ms. which surprised even me because only a year earlier than that he was "a bit of a lad", is rubbish at talks and relies on his elder uncle to get him out of trouble all the time.. i guess this now means he's get his pick of jw sisters.
he's been after the same one as the rest of his peers since 2014..
Why would any girl want to be involved with someone who will go to heaven... you know next Tuesday?

okay, i know many of you no longer believe that there is a god.
just bear with me a little, just assumed that there is a creator or god.
Doing things that hurt other people.
so after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.
"don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".
i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.
He Stucky - I know it's hard, have some pity though - his WHOLE life and future are based on the lies.
What is left when that is taken away especially when you are older and have made so many sacrifices?
It is very hard to let go. It is frightening.
