  i've been to the kingdom ministry school (for elders) recently and can report that it is mostly the usual mix of cliches and platitudes.

  several letters where basically just read through one line at a time.

  one point early on though almost made me laugh out loud.

  OMFG I was thinking to my self then.
  I guess I was 1/2 way out the door at the time.
  I always thought it was funny to have a war on Dots of Ink, or Pixels of light representing things GOD MADE and put in humans as a Biological Imperative.

  November Is The Cruelest Month

  i have been going through old papers and photographs since my mother passed away.

  it has reminded me of some of the reasons that i really hate november.

  this year has added to it obviously.. thirty-four years ago, my father passed away in early november.

  You are right and wrong :)

  Being IN for such a long time makes it hard to not look back at the waste and see how little good time is left.

  On the other hand - being out for me is so much better because I have freed my young kids of the Cult.
  They don't have to waste their lives chasing a fairytale.

  And there are the unforeseen circumstances that add to the crapfest.

  I am still sorting things out as you can tell.

  when i was in the org, there was a strict dress code.

  no woman was attractive, and when i was a young witness child i was conditioned to believe every woman in the world must be ugly.

  Promo dude? I know of almost NO very attractive women who were not married in the ORG.

  None become missionaries or go to bethel if not married, and pioneering just makes them more eligible and usually give them more access to other brothers too.

  Implications of gender and racial imbalance in JW population.

  this was inspired by a recent post by nike and the comments that followed re gender balance in the org.

  if jw's accept the concept that the gb continue to push - that people only become believers if they are "rightly disposed" and are thereby "drawn by god.".

  then given the huge gender imbalance and also the huge differences in percentages of jw in some lands vss others only two things can possible follow from that:.

  Can someone tell me why Joan's ark and the flood not true and impossible?

  hey everyone.

  i have a question and i hope i'm not confusing this with something else i heard.

  while watching ex jw videos on youtube many of them talk about how noah's ark and the flood didn't happen and it's impossible.

  Flood would require supercharged evolution

  How about that the rate of Evolution after the flood ( to go from the number of animals you could fit in an average Home Depot to the 10s of millions of species today ) would mean that new critters would be popping up every day.

  sir82 - There have been so many of those stupid soliloquy "porn is bad" demos it's hard to keep track.

  All they were good for is making brothers "elders & servants especially" feel guilty about spanking the monkey to their favorite free porn tube website.

  Of course, biology trumps WT Mind control most of the time in that battle:)
