what is the purpose of yorww having a creed & the forty (40) basic, fundamental truth requirement?.
many people have wondered about the above question and our stand on the forty (40) basic, fundamental truths, and why we make it a requirement for individual jehovah's witnesses to believe these ideas before...before they can join our five (5) discussion boards.well, its called the yorww congregation, isn't it?its a congregation of like believers and persons of like faith.
(matthew 18:20) so they are supposed to agree on their beliefs, exactly as first century christians agreed upon their beliefs.

watchtower put out some highlights for the 2024 service year:.
average publishers: 8,828,124. peak publishers: 9,043,460. a 43.2 percent increase in "those who returned to jehovah", meaning 65,816 were reinstated.
baptized: 296,267. memorial attendance: 21,119,442. missing stat: number of partakers .. womp womp.
I might be wrong, but I think you would have to click the box in their app to be counted as a publisher. They asked me for my email address so they could send me a 'personal invitation' to download the app, but when I refused they were miffed.

I'll be keen to see the totals broken out by country.
news is that the ramapo project has been approved by authorities and can move forward..
I think it is to be a video production facility. Would be kind of pointless without power

here we have the more indepth interview of the two new gb members jody jodele & jacob rumph and what jumps out to me is how borring they are, interestingly they don't go into detail when it dawned on them when they became anointed but they only go though their history and how they ended up in bethel.
as we already know jody jodele is the real estate expert that will help the gb capitalise on all this real estate money and jacob rumph sounds he spend alot of time as a missionary in south america, maybe he will provide a more insightful understanding of that continent to the gb since no indigenous jw will be part of the gb anytime soon.now what strikes to me as odd is the examples they both sited as the bible characters they want to relate more with, and no it is not jesus.. these modern-day governing body of jehovah's witnesses seems to be leaning heavily on old testament figures like moses and gideon as their role models instead of focusing on jesus, which speaks volumes about the kind of organization they’re leading.
The succession planning of the WT is the weakest of any organization I have ever seen.
i don’t know a lot about james penton but i think he deserves a better thread than the one currently on offer.
james penton, who died recently, grew up in a jw family in canada and served as an elder.
unusually for a jw, he studied liberal arts at university and became a history professor.
I think anyone who has the courage and tenacity to contribute multiple books on the JW movement deserves respect.
my only prowess in making predictions stems from my 77-years of life in the united statesgrowing up under president truman, eisenhower, kennedy, nixon, .....etc.
etc.i was a widdle kid sitting in front of a tiny black and white tv set when the very first broadcastsof political conventions, deal-making, debates (nixon vs kennedy), assassinations (jfk, rfk, martin luther king, etc.
) i grew up with duck and cover under my elementary schooldesk, the cold war, the iron curtain, the korean war, the vietnam war and i went to federal prisonas a jw conscientious objector while hippies, flower children, political activists protested and universitystudents were fired up on by troops.i grew up reading newspapers (2 of them).
In retrospect, I think the failure of the Democratic Party was in not addressing Biden's decline appropriately. When the nation became aware of his decline at the disastrous debate last summer, they had to backpedal and put in a last-minute candidate who didn't really have a chance to build up a national presence. She likely was not the best choice anyway, but the point is that it was not realistic to expect her to win based on such a short campaign. Add to that the anguish of the working folks in seeing prices outpace their income for several years running.

the construction of a new jehovah’s witnesses kingdom hall in cybinka, poland, has once again shed light on the watchtower organization’s relentless drive to expand its real estate empire on the backs of unpaid, vulnerable volunteers.
every day, around 40 jehovah’s witnesses show up at the construction site, some traveling long distances, not for pay or proper protection, but to fulfill a sense of “spiritual duty” instilled by the organization.
I concur with Slidin and others. Back in the early days of quickbuilds there was little regard for safety. I attended/helped at a couple in the '80's, though I didn't have a lot of construction experience. They were astonishingly poorly organized and accidents could very easily have happened (I didn't personally observe one).
Nowadays, it is entirely different. The work goes a lot slower and safety is paramount. They have meetings prior just about safety, they have safety training for all participants, people assigned just to safety, the works. Yet there are still accidents and injuries. I feel for the woman injured, and am glad she wasn't hurt as badly as the OP seemed to imply. Being 'crushed' by a falling wall suggests a serious or even fatal injury, which wasn't the case, thankfully.
with the jw connection to the great pyramid, i thought this audience might find this video interesting.
i find it very reasonable in presenting a new (at least to me) theory that the pyramid was designed as a place of pharoah-worship and the seemingly convoluted design of the passages, with granite blockes, etc, was mainly to prevent looting of the pharoah's tomb.. interestingly, there are several photos (32:36 and elsewhere) presented which were sourced from john and morton edgars' 1909 pyramid passages book, which authors were bible students from scotland who wrote and lectured about the pyramid and the early bible student beliefs on the pyramid.
i think they left the wt after rutherford ditched the pyramid beliefs, but maybe someone can fill in the blanks on that.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itaqsrlg9wq&t=1s.
This thread went off the rails almost immediately. In the OP I only intended to share a video containing some reasonable analysis of the passages and chambers of the pyramid. I've read a lot of bunk concerning the pyramids over the years, and it was refreshing to find something that actually made sense.
