I have a very mixed opinion of Jehovah's Witnesses. Most are welcoming. I attend meetings every few months or so. I'm usually made welcome. I have Witness family. Mom's constant complaint was that their elders are inadequately trained. They are. They 'teach' procedures, but do not subject their elders to a chapter by chapter study of the Bible. Ask them a question they find difficult and most of them will turn you off as if you asked for their firstborn. I agree with their basic doctrine. The Faithful Slave doctrine torchers the scriptures. Elders seem to have a club. some nice things; some irritating, and some just stupid.

Holding a grudge
by LongHairGal ini read something recently on reddit (not sure what thread) where a person related how some jw told them that ‘they hold a grudge’.. this reminded me of something an old jw acquaintance said to me some years back when i related my bad experience in the religion.. so, apparently, jehovah’s witnesses feel they should be forgiven for anything.
people should forget all about it and act like nothing happened and be charitable towards them, etc… when i read in james and ephesians i got the sense ‘holding a grudge’ was referring to the things average people do to offend each other.. i don’t see it applying to a religion that claimed to speak for god and who engendered hateful and unchristian attitudes towards people.. i know because i experienced this.. in addition, some people’s lives were damaged by listening to faulty teachings and interference in things that were clearly none of anybody’s business.. one case in point: them knocking worldly careers and now there are thousands of destitute jws in senior years with nothing.. then in 2023 the religion does away with a century old teaching about counting hours in the ministry.
meanwhile, i got judged over this.

Poorly written. Posted on a forum open to everyone. This isn't even tabloid press. Ineffective.

Have you seen a UFO/UAP?
by BoogerMan inthe acronym uap once stood for "unidentified aerial phenomena," until december 2022. .
then the pentagon updated its terminology to encompass "submerged and trans-medium objects.".

I've seen comets, satellites both Russian and US. (they have different orbital trajectories). I've seen Venus, Mars and other planets through a large telescope. I've seen druggies "flying high." And I saw the moon raising. Looked like a huge disk when behind clouds. But other than youtube videos, nope. Never seen a flying saucer, except for clay pigeons which are fun to blow out of the air. (yup, I'm not as good a shot as my mom was, but I can shoot.)

WT needs your kids uneducated: CO training video is Master Class in F.O.G. This is jaw-droppingly stupid. Beyond moronic, it's sub-moronic.
by WingCommander inco training video: link to ex-jw reddit thread discussion.
today is the first time i was made aware of this actual elder body video.
it's training for how a co should handle elder's whose children decide to pursue further education.

This video and the policy it promotes are insane. I am, as many of you know, a recent graduate with a MA in history. Yes, university is challenging for conservative Christians. It puts them in an environment where their beliefs are challenged, sometimes daily. And there is definitely an associations problem. I get that. But the Watchtower has raised perhaps five generations counting from Rutherford's day of under educated, under performing, believers. Talk to them and one is amazed at how difficult basic logical thought is for them.
The Watchtower will probably not change this policy, but they should. At the least start their own college. Teach their religion to an academic standard; teach public health, nursing, accounting or such, things that allow their believers to live out of poverty and still work in the Witness ministry. Wishful thinking on my part. Won't ever happen.
What the Watchtower has done to its believer children is a sin.

by Kosonen inhello, i have made a commentary to revelation chapters 1 to 22.. you can find that at my youtube channel in separate videos or by downloading an mp3 file for the whole thing from the link in the description in the video below.
the mp3 file is 1 hour and 23 minutes long and i have used an ia voice reader to record it all.
it reads so much better than me.

Commentaries on the book of Revelation are a dime a dozen. And given your previous history here, that's a 'no.'

Do we know the name and hopefully the email of the person who writes the bravehost pages on Russell, Rutherford, and modern Witnesses?
