Exodus 13:13 commands them to redeem their firstborn sons. This was done by paying the priests five silver shekels.

The Question of the "Great Apostasy" and the Historical Continuity of Christianity
by aqwsed12345 in1. the continuity and visibility of the church.
the true church must be continuous from the apostolic age.
there is no room in christianity for a "gap" or interruption of thousands of years during which true christianity ceased to exist and then was revived in the form of another movement.

Catholic doctrine is not apostolic. So while they may see a centuries long connected chain, it is a connected history of apostasy. The OP's pervious posts defended the Trinity, the veneration of Mary and other such nonsense that all derive from pagan worship. The Catholic church's history of murder and repine - something that continues - shows it to be anything but Christian. It is Christian in name only.
The past century Witnessed the kidnapping and murder of a young woman, a resident of Vatican City; the concordant with Hitler; the compromise of the Catholic Centralist party in Nazi Germany; the hiding of war criminals, financial 'mismanagement'; interference in and threats to Central American states; priestly support for the Argentinian dictatorship; murders and rapes in Catholic run Canadian schools for indigenous children. None of this is Christ - Like behavior. And none of it is new. And similar things continue. Yet, the OP thinks he's part of and defending the one true church. That's deranged thinking.

The issue isn't an "unbroken history," but continuity of doctrine from the first century. that can't be established for the Roman church.

There is so much "fake history" in the original post that it is startling. but not surprising. the op is mentally and historically blind.

Why Is Watchtower (Supposedly a Family Friendly Christian Publisher) Obsessed with Oral Sex?
by Sea Breeze inif you do a search on the wt website and type in "oral sex", you will get 69 results.
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/s/r1/lp-e?q=oral+sex&p=par&r=occ&st=a .
why does the wt.

Seems to me that the one obsessed with oral sex would be you. It's not a publisher's responsibility to guide our children. It's a parent's responsibility. If you look at other "Christian" web pages and videos, you will find a consistent obsession with oral sex and its morality. The Watchtower is neither better nor worse than the rest of them.

Holding a grudge
by LongHairGal ini read something recently on reddit (not sure what thread) where a person related how some jw told them that ‘they hold a grudge’.. this reminded me of something an old jw acquaintance said to me some years back when i related my bad experience in the religion.. so, apparently, jehovah’s witnesses feel they should be forgiven for anything.
people should forget all about it and act like nothing happened and be charitable towards them, etc… when i read in james and ephesians i got the sense ‘holding a grudge’ was referring to the things average people do to offend each other.. i don’t see it applying to a religion that claimed to speak for god and who engendered hateful and unchristian attitudes towards people.. i know because i experienced this.. in addition, some people’s lives were damaged by listening to faulty teachings and interference in things that were clearly none of anybody’s business.. one case in point: them knocking worldly careers and now there are thousands of destitute jws in senior years with nothing.. then in 2023 the religion does away with a century old teaching about counting hours in the ministry.
meanwhile, i got judged over this.

I agree with them on the state of the dead and resurrection. I agree that the Bible teaches a restored paradise earth. The trinity is a false doctrine. Something akin to Witness congregational organization is New Testament practice, though the power they give their elders far exceeds what the Bible suggests.
I was pleased when they abandoned the prophetic drama scheme. I agree that the Bible holds us to a very high moral standard. I agree that associating with the morally compromised is poor judgment. However, I Corinthians says that was a decision made by the majority. In other words, it was a personal decision.
That's about it.

Do JWs believe Jesus is an angel?
by slimboyfat ini would suggest:.
the short answer is yes.. the longer answer is a qualified yes, with some caveats.
the short answer is yes because jehovah’s witnesses teach that jesus is michael the archangel, their leader, eldest and most powerful, and have taught this since the very beginning of the religion.

My instant answer: I haven't a clue.
But I have a thought or two. Witnesses see Jesus as unique among spirit beings. He is in God's exact image. Hebrews chapter one says this. He is above all the angels who are commanded to do him obeisance. He is God's ultimate message bearer. He is, as John one says, the one who explains God to us. So Jesus is in a class above angels. Hence he is the archangel. The chief one. But still in the genus Angel.
Just how close that is to Watchtower teaching, I do not know.
Insight vol. one: "As with the visible creation, so also in the invisible realm there is order and rank among the angels. The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is Michael, the archangel. (Da 10:13, 21; 12:1; Jude 9; Re 12:7; see ARCHANGEL; MICHAEL No. 1.) Because of his preeminence and his being called “the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of [God’s] people,” he is presumed to be the angel that led Israel through the wilderness. (Ex 23:20-23)"
