Son returned home nad full speed ahead with all the jw stuff...

as i stated in my last post, my son, age 21 visited his jw grandparents and aunt and uncle in another state.

when he left, about 2 months ago, he wasn't sure if he wanted to come back at all or just stay and live with them.

right before leaving, he quit his part time job, dropped out of school, mid quarter and left to go to a comic book convention with his jw uncle.

I think the core problem jws had, have, is that we did not have any critical thinking skills or we did not process the decision whether or not to join the jws through the critical thinking blender, as it were.

Is there a way to ask your son if he could help you grasp a new teaching skill set that you are working on becoming proficient at, that being how to think critically.

Possibly there is a major decision in your life that you could use as a reason to be interested in looking into this prior to deciding.

Maybe you could see if he could research it alone and get back with you about it, not sure the best way to get him involved but I do think that unless someone knows how to think critically it is more difficult to make that leap out of the jws.

Also highly recommend Stevens Hassans Combatting cult mind control as it will let you know what the jws are doing to him to bring him in deeper.

You can also consult with Mr Hassan via phone and he can take all your sons info etc what he is experiencing and give you the best advice on how to proceed. 15 months ago I did it for my wife, she is out with me now. The initial charge was 100 us for 45 minutes and you get the info about your son to him in advance so he can look it over before getting on the phone with you.

The bad thing about trying to get someone out of a cult is that if you say the wrong thing you can drive them in a little deeper so I think that everything you can do to prepare is worth it's weight in gold.

I hope you didn't mind me throwing that in there, your post inspired me!

I enjoyed your original post as it is a legitimate question. Maybe playing like they are doing their work looking for lost sheep is their way of dealing with the dissonance. Possibly?

I wonder if they have any special provision from the top of the pyramid to do this? I would find that hard to believe as they are already having issues keeping the ones they have now.

Anyway, hope I did not step on any toes,..

I would purchase Richard Dawkins book " The Magic of Reality" as it takes several topics and shows how man from varying cultures from our past believed things were created or myths were started etc then he goes forward and explains how we know these things to not be true today.

Very good book for children as it shows that we should have evidence to believe something.

Check a review of the book on youtube explaining some of the features of the book.

Also comes as a iPad app if you have that device. Well worth the price, pennies on the dollar for your child's future.

And or if you find yourself in category 2 then realize that you REALLY don't fully believe that the GB has a direct link to Jehovah as their counsel to not enter these type of site do not really apply to YOU. What about the angle standing behind you now that is reporting all your deeds to Jehovah's via his proper channel. You REALLY,......TRULY don't believe that either do you?

Lets get real here. If you mentally need this reason to be here to peruse the site then keep telling yourself this so that you can maintain your sanity we get it, we understand the phobias that you are having to deal with, been there myself. I will say that as you start reading some of the threads about the UN NGO debacle at jwfacts.com and other pages there that strike your fancy you should eventually if you have any critical thinking skills left see the WTBTS for whT it is, a high control group aka cult.

We are the same people that once you you'll have welcomed into your house or you ours but with one major difference that being that our BS meter was set a bit higher than yours was and have just preceded you in waking up and doing the right thing by researching our doubts and if those doubts would have led us to the conclusion that the WTBTS was correct, we would not be here.

So now that you have been able to get your foot in the door, please do thorough research this time, damn what it leads to just be honest, truly honest with yourself regardless how pleasing the carrot looks. Because it it is not true, the carrot is not true.

Sorry to hear that about your husband.

Did you and the hubby do any research about the history, inner workings to of the WTBTS while you we're out?

If not, en I would try to fast track some research such as jwfacts.com , Captives of a Concept by Don Cameron, Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan, Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz

They are well worth the money in my opinion.

And of course you may already know about these but thought they were worth mentioning.

Another sad non jw falling for a baptised jw girl story

ok ,so this is my story , this jw girl came on vacation in my country as a friend of my girl-cousin who is not a jw but were classmates at uni .

my cousin introduced her to me but she didnt tell me that she was a jw from the very first moment we flirt each other.we went on beach ,on bars ,cafes etc and she acted so wordly ,in fact i thought she could be a good one night stand with her behaviour .never saw anything weird about her that could lead me to question something, with the peak in the club where we danced together while hugging very passionatly .

i tried to kiss her that night but she kept her distance , i didnt notice any bad on that.anyway, next day we flirt again at the the beach and at night too .

This means more than likely you have read abou the other recent ones and the answers that the "learned" have shared before you. Are you hoping for some answers that are not in alignment with the ones already shared?

I know how bad it is to be in lust with someone but your acking for advice that you already know your going to hear.

Walk VERY FAST away from this deal and get some hypnotist to try to remove that memory that you have for her as it will lead to much more heartache.

And in this case it is NOT better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.
