Your worst convention experience.

This got me going a bit, really upset and semi woke me up regarding ttatt.

I reposted this from the Jehovahswitnessrecovery.com where I originally share the thought.

Seeing a 10 year old JW boy that was bound for life in a wheelchair (think Stephen Hawkings like) being moved by his father to a upper tier level area MARKED HANDICAPPED AREA blue painted marked off area ADA compliant area so he could get a better view of the DRAMA at the DC. He was laying down somewhat and could not see the stage and actors from the vantage point that the WTBTS wanted him to be which is at the back of the auditorium ground level.
The father was getting him situated when an attendant approached him and told him that they were not allowed to be in that area. I could see what was going on and thought that if I got involved and explained to the attendant that there is an Americans with Disabilities Act that would apply in this case that would allow him to be in that spot since it was marked out with blue paint etc.
The attendant was cordial but insisted that he would not be allowed to stay in that spot. The father who was packing up his son and moving him back down to the floor level said that it would be all right and not to worry about it.
I was LIVID!!! I could not cool down about this, I was bouncing off the walls and although I did not make a break for the door at that point, it was, and is a major piece of straw that tipped the scales, as it were, in my favor that Sunday afternoon at the DC, how ironic.
I would like to have thought that if it were me, I would have let the child who has very few things to look forward to, stay in that spot and if the boss over the attendants said anything I would have asked him "how would you like to be in the same situation as this child" and see if he got the innuendo.

The only reason that the WTBTS would be there first would be to try to get some of the injured to sign some of those legal papers where you leave everything to the WTBTS

Disfellowshipping question for X or Current Elders

i know somebody who got disfellowshipped...they decided to appeal.

how long does the appeal process usually take?

do they ever get overturned?

All this info is covered in the Elders game plan book, "Shepherding the Flock of God" I would do a search for this PDF and do some reading. There is also a 2nd little known appeal if the first appeal does not go your way.

The elders are told, in this book, to not mention this 2nd appeal process and is only allowed if the accused, after the 1st appeal goes awry, demands that there they are still innocent and demands to write a letter personally to the Headquarters. Something like that.

The book actually instructs the elders to NOT TELL the accused of this option.

ANYway, it feels good to be able to share, albeit incognito, your story and to realize, hey, I may not be as crazy as they wanted me to think I was.

I hope the other lurkers out there, ( Like I was a mere 2 years ago) make a move to be true to themselves and get on with their lives by admitting, at least to themselves that this concept spouted by the WTBTS, although compelling to WANT to beleive for the benefits, has no basis in reality.

I don't quote Cher often, but when I do, it's this "Life is NOT a dress rehearsel"

Under the New Light, Where is the Continuity?

under the old light, from 33 ce onward, there was always an anointed remnant on earth, and these constituted the faithful and discreet slave class whom jesus had appointed over his domestics to give them spiritual meat in due season.. but the new light is that the "anointed" were not the faithful and discreet slave after all.. in fact, according to the new light, jesus did not appoint anyone as faithful and discreet slave over his domestics until 1919 (not even the apostles or russell).. so according to the new light, who or what was jehovah's visible organization from the death of the apostles until 1919?.

who was authorized to provide spiritual food in due season?.

where is the continuity?.

I get what your saying,...

I have had the same thought and actually almost started a thread very similar yesterday.

I remember the banded stump prophecy, was that not supposed to be the lineage of gods chosen people during that period.

Also remember the Waldenses (sp?) and other groups that were supposed to be that fine ribbon through time of gods chosen people that were at least the most accurate, were these not supposed to be special, anointed ones?

Anyone care to clarify?

when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.

my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

You know how some figure in the media may be getting slammed week in and week out. Then something else in the world comes up and

gives the person/news story some breathing room and everyone eventually forgets the original story. It's like the masses can only hang onto one story at a time and it usually is the latest and greatest.

What if the original person, the one taking all the heat, could have also had some control in distracting the masses by starting the new story?

The Jws always seem to hang onto the "next" piece of new light and tend to forget the ones just prior. They are fickle and abandon any talk of the older light in view of the newer one.

Could the GB be breathing a sigh of relief, at least somewhat, over the new light regarding the F&DS vs the previous cliff hanger "Deifinition of the word Generation"?

Has The Governing Body Ever Explained Why They View The Faithful Slave Parable As A Prophecy? What Justification Do They Give?

i would think it a major leap in logic to not concider this first before expounding on it prophetically, why go thru the bother if we are missing this important link..

Since this one parable does not stand out as being higher in relevence that any of the others, why are the parables not prophecies also, and if so, can someone tell me where the list is so i can read up on them.

I asked some brothers who approached me, when they brought up Proverbs 4:18 if this was a prophecy form the bible showing that the GB would continually get things wrong. They did not say much after that.

Side note, are there any prophecies AT ALL in Proverbs?
