there were several families that were visiting my mom today and i was sitting in and just listening to all of them talk..
they started talking about the recent shooting at the university.
and its so easy for them because all they have to say is;.
Even their song "Keep your eyes on the "Prize"" proves that the Jws are motivated to make it into the new order for the benefits. The Jw will tell you otherwise, that they are not doing these works for any future benefits.
I disagree as the "prize" is not the "finish line" is it?

we've just had our sunday meeting and the letter was read out to the congregation.. however, there was no mention of the bethel lay-offs or the building program shut-downs.. looks like we are on a need to know basis, here in australia..
I believe the lay offs and bethel cutbacks were brought up at morning worship at Bethel. This and the special meeting, and yearly convention all hit about the same time so they got mixed up a bit.

i very seldom receive a call from my jw siblings, i mean seldom.
i can count them on my hand in past 10 years.
while we talk about mom a lot and i am in touch with her, i was very surprised when i received this call.

what do you call someone who just turned apostate?.
im thinking sometime in the future the society will put a spin on what is happening similar to what has been done in the past.. they will say apostasy once again reared its ugly head in the organization and layoffs was the only way to "cleanse" the organization.. once disgruntled ones begin to use their voice, they will be forced to strike back with some spin to make all those who have the guts to complain look like they were the problem.. good theory huh?.
One thing it will do is to make those bethelites that did not get cut, straighten up and fly right.
There isn't a better motivator to get your butt in gear than a 'this could have been you" or a " you could be next"

it's become obvious in the last few days that the borg is done, done giving one dime over to the membership of the organization.
they know or have been told that it's a waste of time to spend money trying to recruit new members so their cutting all out lays of money in this regard to the bone.
they will continue to spend money where they can make a prophet, keeping the ones in, not thinking and donating.
What if it were a way to dissuade exjws from thinking about suing them. "Dammnn,... I waited too long,... they don't run out of money"

i did not believe i would see the demise of the wt in my lifetime, and maybe i will not, they may be able to ride out their present problems.. but how do you think this will affect the average, loyal, believing jw ?.
usually most things just wash over them, if there is a slight niggle, they use their well-worn way of explaining things to themselves as in "the end is near" or "jehovah knows best" etc etc.
but the huge sea-change in corporate policy that we see unfolding, all construction work stopped, except warwick and maybe their biggest project, chelmsford u.k. huge bethel layoffs, and the lifestyle of the remaining staff reduced to virtual slavery, more bethel closures, spiritual food reduced for the public as well as the r&f, and all of this being the opposite of what they have claimed was evidence of jehovah's blessing ???.
So I think that since we, as humans, cannot really see things from any other standpoint the quote from the GB in the Nov 2013 Watchtower regarding ''we all must be ready to obey any instructions whether they seem strategic from a human standpoint or not'' really should read "We getting ready to do some stuff that won't make sense no matter which way you slice it,.. get used to it"
