Probably guessed...I am a woman...Nita would make a nifty guys name, I can see where the confusion would come from
Edited to say I'm not sure if "nifty" is still a word!

sometimes, the gender of a poster is relatively easy to deduce due to their style of posting, and, dare i say it, their choice of vocabulatory.
but sometimes it is difficult to know if you are "talking" to a man or a woman (or homosexual).
ok, right away, i hear protests of "what the heck does it matter?

my site (
http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/
) has been visited by people from 97 different countries.
Born in Chicago, IL and currently in Western KY !
this is totally non-jw related, but i have a close friend who is in turmoil at the moment and there are lots of great people here who are good with advice so any help would be appreciated.
my friend, who ill refer to as katie has just found out some shocking info about her past.
katies mum has been an alcoholic for about 15 years.
Hi There, My best to Katie
I was watching a talk show the other day about paternity test and it was said on it that if the father wasn't available but a sibling or close relative of the father(grandfather) was they can do some kind of dna match because close relatives has similar dna patterns. She might want to inquire at one of those dna /paternity testing sites on the web. Just a thought!

ray franz requested that i post the following comments written by him:
as has been stated already, the presentation made from the silent lambs source in connection with the child abuse issue completely misrepresents my position.
when i spoke by phone recently with the author of that presentation, and pointed out that i had never expressed the views presented, his comment was that from his previous conversation with me (held some months earlier) he "got the impression that i was not on the same wave length" with him.
Francois and outoftheorg I agree with both of you!
When I was reading that reply by Mr. Franz I got that same old feeling that I got when I used to read the Watchtower. I understand he is a very talented and eloquent writer but to me it was saying you are not that intelligent if you do not see things my way. Reference to blind faith, independent thinking..more of those little "go words" that have you wondering if someone is trying to talk over your head. With all respect to Mr. Franz he says he only wrote things that had been truly inspired by Holy Spirit. Well in my humble opinion...the Watchtower Society is a cult, has been a cult and will always be a cult. Their reasoning book, aid book, insight book is not inspired by God. It is cult material. The two witness rule taken literally, shunning taken literally....maybe none of it was meant to be taken literally but it has been and it has destroyed lives. When you are a faithful witness, you support those rules. I did, I am not proud of shunning anyone but I did it. I can't say now that I am out, well I never believed that was literal... I did it. My mind wascontrolled by the borg just like Ray, just like Bill and everyone else.As I said in a previous post, they are men doing the best that they can, neither is infallible, neither is perfect. Mr Franz helped many break free from the Watchtower, Bill Bowen has helped many break free from the silence imposed by the Watchtower. Bravo to the both of them.
... i'm usually one who responds to topics that interest me.
yesterday, i wanted to respond to certain posts, but needed to step back and wait until things became more clear to me.
i didn't use an attention grabbing subject line for this post [e.g., something referring to raymond franz, bill bowen, silentlambs] since my purpose was basically to express my feelings, whether or not anyone wanted to read them or respond to them.. i watched with bewilderment the recent accusations flung against raymond franz and the comments made by some supporting the accusations both here and on the yahoogroups email list.
I have looked at all of the recent posts and I guess I just don't understand.....a couple of weeks ago Bill Bowen was everyone's hero. I suggested in a post that he didn't have super human powers but was doing all that he could do as a man, and one poster said...oh no he is a super hero. Now we have people saying that silentlambs shouldn't be associated with the personality of Bill Bowen. Well from where I sit...Silentlambs wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Bill Bowen. He and Shelia have given up their life for the cause, I don't think anyone has an abuse hotline ringing in their homes 24/7. I don't , I really don't have to think of the problem till I look at the posts on the board, I am one of the lucky ones I know. I am not trying to minimize anything anyone has gone through.Bill may not be the most politically correct, he may not sugar coat everything like some speakers, but he is zealous when he puts his heart in something and he has moved mountains with this organization.Again I am not trying to start a war here...just confused I guess.
i remember being a child and playing in a park.
we would spend our summer days in the park, with all the freshly cut lawn, the swings and the sand to play in.
every once in a while, we would get the bright idea to try and chase our shadows to see if we could out run the darkened shape.
Another excellent post! I guess we all deal with some of the same kinds of things leaving that religion. Sometimes late at night while lying in bed a memory from the past, how I shunned my family, what I lost doing that, how I have been shunned by those who were supposedly my best friends, will come trailing into my mind and will keep me up trying to figure it out. Not really if it was right or wrong just figure out why it happened. Some of the things were so crazy, they can't be made sense of. I guess I haven't learned to leave the past in the past because so many of my behaviors today result from the past. Sometimes it seems as if everything comes tumbling in at once, I assure myself I am not crazy, not totally anyway and that tomorrow will be better.
that is, to find disfellowshipped people who need support or advice?
if you've been to meetings since being disfellowshipped, i take it you'll know that they all sit at the back and leave straight away so they are easy to spot.
i continued to attend for several months after being disfellowshipped and met up with several disfellowshipped persons, although i had to attend several times as they didn't appear to make all the meetings (they must be spiritually weak or something lol).
After I was df'd I called a "sister" who had been df'd about a year before me during the time when the loneliness was driving me nuts and surprisingly she was glad to hear from me even though I shunned her previously. We became best friends in the years that followed. Initially though we had a ball when we would run into the other witnesses when we were out together. We attended our "final" memorial together in our shorter than average witness skirts and you should have heard the awwws and gasps, it was great. One sister actually sat with us and shared her songbook (I think she was envious that we were out!) You have to remember this is the totally screwed up cong. that Bill Bowen attended also before the pediophile problem was brought in to the open. I know her friendship kept me from going crazy so I can see why someone would try to reach the df'd ones, but I don't think I could step foot in the KH.
"pull my finger" takes on an entirely new meaning!.
new york (reuters health) .
despite eons of speculation to the contrary, two british scientists have laid to rest the idea that a man's shoe size is in any way correlated to the size of his penis, according to a report in the british journal of urology international.
Out of all threads to answer in the morning, I pick this one?

Ok then..if a guy has big hands, big feet , a big nose and an itty bitty.....he doesn't have a lot going for him does he?
when i was about 23 years old a friend of mine came down with cancer.
we had spent a lot of our time growing up together, from fishing to doing the pioneer thing.
