An earlier comment said that a poster here had abuse victims at home and in his family unlike Bill Bowen. Not to lessen any of the horrible things that have happened to anyone but Bill Bowen has an abuse hotline ringing into his home and his family life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No , this is not Bill's family , nor his friends, he doesn't have to deal with any of it, he chooses to do it out of love out of concern.Bill and Shelia are normal everyday people, their kids go to school with my kids, they are just like you and me. Sometimes I think it gets forgotten they are not super heros, they work,they eat,they clean house,deal with kids just like us.There are very few of us who would be able to make the commitment they have made, I know I couldn't. To think or suggest they are doing this for any selfish reasons is ridiculous.

over a year ago i made some extrapolations from a poll on jwd that conservatively suggested about 5,300 jw molesters in the usa, or about (1) jw pedophile for every (2) jw congregations in the united states.
given that pedophiles molest many victims, at least 70 or more in their criminal careers by conservative estimates, this can add up to a lot of victims --- not all are necessarily jw victims --- but still the collective crimes of jw pedophiles would average over 370,000 victims.. since that time that over 5,000 victims have come forward to email, phone, and write letters to silentlambs --- as stated last night on connie chung/cnn.

If you have a pediophile molesting 70 victims over his lifetime, or just molesting one victim repeatedly and it being covered up, it is still wrong. If one is molested 1 time, it is wrong. Huge numbers may be hard to accept and people have the tendancy to say, "they are exaggerating" but lets face it, it is happening in the org. It is a pediophile paradise because whether 100 or 1000 have been molested, it has been covered up.

I agree with you 100%. 2 of my kids were small when I left the org but my oldest went through all of the B.S.. He and I were talking one day and he told me how embarassed he used to feel and how all of his friends would tell him they felt sorry for him. He said some of his friends told him they weren't going to bring cupcakes anymore for their birthday because they felt bad that he couldn't have any. His teacher was a real gem and wouldn't let him leave the room, just made him sit and observe. There is no doubt in my mind I would have lost him at 18, if I had stayed in. Proudly all my kids will be donning their red,white and blue this Sept 11

The umbilical cord had wrapped around the neck of my 3rd son during labor before he was born. When he was born,he wasn't breathing, the doctor layed him on my chest and took care of the cord and he was lifeless and not breathing.Then the doctor layed him in a warmer and began CPR and had one of the nurses tapping his feet and the doctor kept saying "Come on little guy,we're not going to lose you". It seemed like hours that I laid there helpless to do anything,then all of a sudden the baby started crying. That definitely was the best moment in my life. Andrew is 8 now and is a perfectly healthy little boy, still my baby

I DISTRIBUTED 1,000 FLYERS!

yesterday, i typed up a flyer saying how jehovah's witnesses' protect pedophiles, and how many who have spoken out trying to protect children from wt policy have been excommunicated from the church.
i didn't want to make it too long, but i ended by saying "how would you feel if on saturday morning, a knock comes to the door and your 6 year old runs to open it.

THE ATTITUDE OF A BETHELITE

I attended the Port Jervis N.Y congregation and the Bethelites there were from the farm and most all of them were great guys. We had little kids and they always helped out and always stayed out at our house on the weekends. We didn't treat them any different than anybody else. The first time we had them out to our house, we were a young couple then...we sat on milk crates and ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. One of the guys did make an awesome Margarita though!
