How did JWs arrive at a clearer understanding of what the Bible teaches than other Christian denominations?
by slimboyfat infor jws who believe that jehovah had a hand in reviving the truth in the nineteenth century this is enough explanation for how jws managed to achieve a closer approximation to early christian beliefs and practices than other groups.
but is there an explanation for this phenomenon that doesn’t rely on supernatural intervention?
new testament scholar james dunn explains the difficulty of interpreting the biblical texts in this way:.

It’s probably safe to say that more people have encountered JWs preaching than any other religion
Indeed, and the result is they have turned them off from following Jesus as the only way to salvation, for some end up disgusted at their abusive cultish practices and others they dupe to follow men and not their savior, give the WT the best years of their productive lives and resources ending up nearly destitute for the benefit of a man made organization.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Nobody here is angry that I've seen. There are some sincere people here but there are also a bunch of paranoid Watchtower two-faced fakers who are trying to cover for their falling tower.
Better take cover. WT's falling fast.
Well, FTM when you start flinging Sh*t pile emojis around it can be taken for hostile and angry statements.
But as to the WT falling fast, my opinion is that you're sadly mistaken. The "tens of billions" in the Ireland assets management scheme will keep them going for a lot longer than we have years to live, most likely.Much wishful thinking and conspiracy mongering will not bring the WT down any time soon.

how do you feel about the use of the name Jehovah now?
by enoughisenough infor those who still believe in god and the bible, how do you feel/think about the name jehovah now?
i am one who never wanted to bring reproach on god's name.
i will admit using the word jehovah now makes me feel rather icky...like i am promoting a lie of sorts.

I have no problem with the usage of Jehovah for God's personal name in English. Just like I have no problem with the name Jesus being pronounced like DJEE-zuhs and in Spanish it's HEY-soos. The pronunciations can vary with language, because it's the same name but pronounced by people with different sound habits in their own languages.
If I wanted to go around saying Yahweh or Yeshua, well maybe I should just talk Hebrew. But since I'm using English, then Jehovah is a well established pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton in English and that's fine by me.
This whole idea that we shouldn't use Jehovah because of some Spanish monk from centuries ago wrote in latin IEHOVA is getting overplayed. There's nothing wrong in what the Spanish monk might have been trying to do, just vocalize the tetragram in Latin. And since Latin isn't Hebrew then that's fine by me too. Besides he probably had a cousin whose name was Jesus and he pronounced it Hey-soos too, not Djee-zuhs so I see no problem there at all.

MAJOR WIN FOR THE WATCHTOWER IN EUROPE ON THE BLOOD ISSUE
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/xhpnp8xtsk4?si=kq55iap5anhlehgd.
so on the 17th of september the european court of human rights (echr) condemned spain over a case involving a jehovah’s witness who was given a blood transfusion during emergency surgery, against her will, this case was well documented earlier last year as a victory for the exjw community and a sign that european countries are turning on the watchtower, unfortunately this was a shortlived victory since the finally authority are no longer countries and their courts but nefarious organizations like the echr that over rule their decisions, and i'm afraid this is the same way is going to go if the victory in norway ends up in strasburg in the hands of the echr.. the case involved an ecuadorian national residing in spain, who was given a transfusion despite her religious objections.
spain found itself in a difficult position when confronted with this case.

Right, so good for human rights to one's own body. Now, Spain should take non-profit status away from the 0rg since their corporate rights result in harm for citizens. We'll see how long it takes the 0rg to change policies when it affects their pocket book.

If the 0rg can legally keep such information they will, and unless It's prevented by governments, the only other way would be for a great majority of JWs to not provide info, which would mean a loss of standing as exemplary, that is, no privileges and the possibility of marking. If it got to the point where so many refused that it became hard to find elders, minservs, and pioneers, it would take a while but eventually the 0rg would change policy That would take a long time, though, and abuses of privacy would continue in whatever form possible because that is how that Evil Slave in Warwick rolls.

It's written to the GB but It's obviously written for people who believe vaccines were bad.If people believe they are bad then don't take them. I never heard of any elders asking to see an inoculation card for anyone.

Book recommendation about Ancient Rome
by KerryKing ini've been reading a series of books about ancient rome, written in novel form but based on real people, dates and facts, itvhas been very eye opening as it creates a very real backdrop for the gospels and especially the letters to the congregations.
they're by steven saylor, roma, empire and dominus.. below is a quote from dominus: .
"reason means nothing when the worshippers are completely reliant on the revelations of the prophet.".

Great series thanks for the reference.
Many years ago, I remember fondly, reading "Quo Vadis", "Ben Hur" and "The Etruscan" which were great fictional history books.
