That's funny. So their own Interlinear bible renders it correct but not their bible.
Add the fact that they render the verse "they reign as kings" is messed up too.
i hesitate to ask this question.
during some recent research on youtube i came across a few videos explaining how watchtower manipulated revelation 5:10. revelation 5:10 "you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our god,and they will reign on the earth.”" -niv.
the nwt13 renders this verse: 10 and you made them to be a kingdom+ and priests to our god,+ and they are to rule as kings+ over the earth.”.

Instead of "on the earth", Watchtower renders the verse "over the earth" and makes the connection of these ones to the 144,000.
So doing some digging into a few commentaries and considering the timing of Rev 5:10 it appears that this group has nothing at all to do with the 144,000. These ones represent the entire body of Christians living on earth today. They are a "kingdom" in that they are the large number. They are "priests" in that they serve God. They "reign on the earth" in that the Christian religion is the largest denomination in the world to date.
Now concerning the 144,000, these ones actually appear to be converts AFTER the Great Tribulation but before Armageddon. So these are ones that decide to serve God instead of getting destroyed when they see all the signs that would be taking place during the tribulation.
So for Watchtower to say that when the tribulation starts that the door is closed for new converts is yet another lie.
Any thoughts?
i was skimming the july 2016 wt study article and came across a paragraph indicating that, despite scriptural evidence, the governing body indeed feels that god's son now knows the exact day and hour of armageddon.
is this 'new light'?
from the second study article, page 14, pgh 4:.
Ok. What the hell is going on with the org? It seemed all good and proper just a few months ago but now we have articles like this one that clearly go against the bible. We also have the ridiculous bunker vids and the re-emphasis on shunning faders. The insane JWTV crap which goes without saying.
Who is writing/producing this stuff? People on this board would say, "You just can't make this stuff up!!" Wow do those words ring true.
Is ignoring those you love merciful? No way. It is a horrible cult tactic that lacks any form of love.
i kid you not, giving money is an act of love according to jwtv (juli edition).
is it wrong to change your religion or abandon beliefs you were once taught?.
let this article help you decide.... http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102009251.
clearly, no one should be shunned, or mistreated if they discover facts about their former faith....
Although the Bible makes a clear distinction between true and false teachings, God allows each person the freedom to choose how he or she will respond. (Deuteronomy 30:19, 20) No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family. Does study of the Bible lead to family breakup? No. In fact, the Bible encourages a husband and wife who practice different religions to remain together as a family.—1 Corinthians 7:12, 13.
Exactly. Right from the Devils, I mean the horses mouth.
Edit: 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

i have a question.
yesterday while the wife and i were hitting garage sales we seen a house selling tools.
this house happened to be a witness couple getting rid of some old stuff.
LoL ToesUp. That is exactly what my MiT does. Also the whole "those who leave the truth lives go down the toilet."
Sad thing about her and it already has been commented on is the fact that most JW's I know are completely unprepared for retirement. They literally have nothing saved up and are in debt up to their eyeballs!! First thing I did upon waking up was get the retirement account going again.
Kairos- sorry for the situation that you are in. I hope she wakes up. Even a little time awake and enjoying life as we should is better than nothing.
i have a question.

My mother-in-law is the same way, always with the "what if's" and the doom talk. I try to steer it to a happy place and boom! back to the gloom!!
We don't talk much nowadays.

Right MoC. By being happy and telling these depressed people how much joy we can have in life, that alone might wake some up. While in we were constantly told how bad this world is. Screw that! The world we live in is amazing and life is worth living to the full. Perhaps as DoC says, The greatest revenge is living a happy & successful life!

You make a good point Doc about not being "with them" if we are enjoying life. That's too bad though. I'd rather make them wonder than join them in misery.
Its understandable that most faders can't do that or it will arouse suspicion. How can they say they are living "the best life ever" if they are so depressed? How is it they cannot see how hypocritical that is?
