Three elders show up "to encourage me" after 10 years!

"hey brother wasa, come on back to the meetings.

" (after 10 years) so i respond that the situation with pedophiles is out of hand.

they tell me "we" elders have received tons of training on the subject, its not like it was 10 years ago.

THREE elders? That's more than an investigation committee.

How would I react? I'd crack open a bottle of Bourbon and proceed to pour myself a stiff drink, and then tell them it's not a good time for encouragement as I'm just finishing up breakfast.

Man, that was EXCELLENT. It was almost therapeutic listening to her fearlessness.

Amazing she got out of the cult after that Biker gang incident. That could have been something that kept someone in the cult as a result of "confirmation bias" perceiving Jehovah helping them.

this is a phrase taken from the current wt magazine being studied.

someone already took it and ran with it, posting it as a banner in a pro-jw site called "i am proudly a jw".

it's in spanish, but you can look it up in the english version of the mag.

New KH design announcement?

has there been any official announcement made regarding the new kh design?

i am asking because i know some publishers on my cong that already seen the pics from elders who attended the presentation.

also made me wonder how long would it be before they have to dedicate a section of the meeting (local needs?

There was a video on JW Broadcasting detailing the new design and the new LDC arrangement, however the actual renderings were not on there.

For God/Truth Seekers Only!

for the past three years, my husband and i have been watching these sermons by remarkable worldwide speakers.

the biblical truths we have learnt from their presentations, in such a short period of time most definitely tip the scales compared to the truth the jw.org led me to believe i had for over 20 plus years of my life.

thanks to these videos, we have now found the truth and the truth is jesus christ (john 14:6).

I don't believe it's truly a matter of feeling threatened. It sounded to me like they were just pointing out the control tactics the Judeo-Christian God uses...

The God of the Bible is a God of threats, fear, obligation, guilt, manipulation.

TTATT Billboard outside Belton, TX JW Conventions - Fundraising campaign

billboard raising awareness of the dangers of the jehovah's witness cult.. short summary.

millions of people's lives are being adversely affected every day by jehovah's witnesses' (also known as jw.org) harmful teachings of shunning former members, refusal of certain kinds of medical treatment, social isolation, and harboring of child molesters.

the goal of this campaign is to sponsor a billboard that will be targeted to current members traveling to the belton, tx conventions july 31st - aug 9th 2015. these conventions attract thousands of current members and hundreds of prospective members.

KateWild: Yeah, I'm not sure why they chose a URL with a hyphen in it. Your experience is exactly why when someone asks me about what website address they should choose for their own site, I tell them to stay way from hyphens. People forget them.

Wife fully awake.

i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.

i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".

she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.

Kairos: Any updates to report, Cap'?

She likes reddit better for some reason. She lurked here for a while but lost interest. Haha
no updates other than she's still exploring her personal beliefs. She's leaning more towards agnosticism now.
She's past the anger and anxiety of initially waking up and turned her first fake time report in last week.
We're planning on saving as much cash as possible and moving after a year.
In the meantime, we are fading quickly. Haven't been to a meeting since the Memorial. No one called us about it until this week (when they were begging for time reports..."real concern" right?)
