millions of people's lives are being adversely affected every day by jehovah's witnesses' (also known as jw.org) harmful teachings of shunning former members, refusal of certain kinds of medical treatment, social isolation, and harboring of child molesters.
the goal of this campaign is to sponsor a billboard that will be targeted to current members traveling to the belton, tx conventions july 31st - aug 9th 2015. these conventions attract thousands of current members and hundreds of prospective members.

Belton, Texas was chosen because of the amount of JW's that would be there for conventions during the summer and for the reason that it was also the most affordable of the other locations. If the Billboard is on the main I-35 thoroughfare, thousands of JW's will pass it during the convention season.

I'm sure there are various ways, however all I know about is the concept stated above. I know nothing about detecting such watermarks or embedding them. The actual method is called "Digital Watermarking."
I believe there are some third party tools that aid in detection and removal of digital watermarks, however I have no idea what tool to recommend or use as I have never had to either detect or remove one.

Anyone ambitious enough could always print out a paper copy, scan it into a PDF and redistribute it.
Correct. However if an undercover apostate elder who isn't too tech savvy decides to share it, they will likely just share whatever they download. They probably wouldn't think about something like unique metadata.

wife and i have not reported a single hour of fs in 3-4 months.

so took the wives car instead of mine in today, the watchtower was playing, i got to hear t.morris life story as narrated by him, but that is another story entirely... long story short, the study article it went into was about satan.

second this is why meeting and hearing these things make me more of an unbeliever than any exjw website.
First off, I don't believe in Adam & Eve or Satan. However, if the bible was true, here's my reasoning:
If Adam and Eve were truly "free agents," then even though Satan lied to them, the fact that they were free agents means that THEY were responsible for all the imperfection and death. They were the murderers.

The guy yelling "Look me up on Facebook!" plays into the perception that Apostates try to gather followers after themselves.
The douchebaggery in these tactics is extremely high.
Even as a teenager/early 20's I would have just laughed and shook my head at the stupid idiot apostate and then go back to passing the wine and bread. I used the internet (Yahoo, Excite, then Google) to look for everything and NEVER looked up apostate websites intentionally.
You're free to use whatever tactics you want, no matter how idiotic they are. Just understand, when idiotic tactics like this are used, it does way more harm to the cause than good.
The ends do not justify the means. Subtle tactics work best. Even the elders recognize that a subtle apostate is more dangerous than an overt moron apostate like the ones in this video.
One time I discussed a guy I thought was an apostate with my father who has been an Elder for more than 33 years, PO & COBE for 30 of them. He said, "How do you know?" I told him, "Well, he's probably not. There's nothing I can put my finger on. Just really subtle things." He then gave me the gist of the statement above about subtle apostasy being more dangerous and damaging to the congregation than other forms.
So, in summation, I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be a huge douche and do similar things to what was portrayed in this video. You'll have far more success just asking questions.

So, I was reserving judgement until I could actually watch the video.
Just as I suspected, a bunch of dummies thinking they're doing something good, when in reality, they're just making the JWs think they must be further into the time of the end because of persecution.
I would venture to guess that 90% of us became apostate not due to some stupid stunt like this, but because we read something on the internet or someone introduced us to the information in a peaceable, reasonable way.
