what gets to me is when i hear a story that gets embellished .
it's worse when someone relates the story and i was the original teller of it....what about you?

bristol water are re-laying our streets water mains - in plastic.
they say that this may mean that the electrical earthing system to our home will become non-functional, so, don't blame us if you get a belt mr englishman, you have been warned, and it's your problem to fix it!
Simply go to the hardware or electrical supply house and buy a 1/2"X 8' solid copper ground rod. drive this into the ground near you foundation and hopefully near your fuse panel. Open your panel box and find the ground wire connection. (this is usually #4 bare copper either stranded or solid) trace this wire to find where it is attatched to your plumbing pipes. remove this connection and reconnect to the ground rod. This should solve the problem. (and this meets residential codes in the middle US, so it's not an unsafe fix.)

Welcome, scared. I'm kinda new, but I don't post all that much here. I can say that reading your story touched me. I too was raised a JW and after 25 years, decided that it's not for me. My wife is still a witness, though a liberal one who doesn't give me much grief about my choices. My daughter is still with my JW exwife and is being raised in a JW extremist household. I hope that many here can offer you insight through their posts and experience. Just remember when you come to places like this, take what you need, contribute what you want ...and forget the rest.

For me, the biggest challenge is sowing those seeds with my 9 yr. old daughter that lives with the psycho-bitch from hell...(we just call her Satan for short) who is a 'hovah extremist. I believe if they ever declared a holy war, she'd be like the hezbolah suicide bombers.
I keep trying to show my daughter that there is unconditional love here...even if she should decide in her future to stay a 'dub. I sometimes worry about the depression, etc. because she's such a subjective child.

i've been considering making a move from my current corporate it position into one at a hospital or a similar setting.
for the people who already work in an environment like this maybe you can answer a few questions for me.. .
do hospitals normally have 24 hour it support?.
My wife works for a Huge multi-national Health Care Company. She's a director in physician services...and I know she depends on her I/T support. She used to work for an Educational hospital that is well known and one of her friends that is still there is in I/T and Tech support.
Should be wide open for you.

with all the pressure they have to produce and assist meetings, they have less time left on their hands for other things, like sex.

Sex life in the BOrg? What's that? the once in a blue moon "paying of the marital dues"? My 8 yrs marriage while in the BOrg resulted in a very close sexual realationship with "rosie palmer" while my wife was lying next to me. Oral sex? if it was on her...it was okay....if it was for me? Hell, no...that's wrong and disgusting and satanic...etc. Of course that didn't stop her from being a total Co*k-Hound when she started whoring around while I was gone.
Sexlife now is fulfilling with new wife. Ain't ever had it so good. What we do in the bedroom is none of anyone else's business and if an elder ever asked about the subject, I'd tell him to kiss all of my hairy white ass because it's none of his G.D. business.

I remember my first one back in about 1986. They pretty much let anyone come and participate. I couldn't believe it, I was 15 and they let me operate a radial arm saw. OSHA would have had a fit. There were always unqualified people doing dumbass things like stepping through the ceiling from the attic while insulating. Usually happened at least once each quickbuild. I went to another one in 89, but that one was invitation and It was for my grandma's congregation. I worked rooming which acutally meant using my car to shuttle people from the site to where ever they were staying. My grandma, who is one of those racist....but not...JW's actually had a house full of black brothers staying there. I thought it was soooo funny because she was on pins and needles the whole time.
You're right, they definitely were a lot better than going to the KH on the weekend and it could be a good place to scope out the chicks.

In a word? "Goodwill". Figured the tax write off for the donation was more good than they had ever done for me before. I'm proud to say that I have not had anything dressier in my closet than a pair of Dockers in the last 4 years.
