I don't think creationists got it right, but I truly am starting to see that many evolutionists are just as arrogant and ignorant as creationists and other beleivers. Let them live their life and beleive what they want to.
It's the mere fact that many evolutionists and the media tres to make everyone accept their theories is what irritates me. Especially about the formation of planets, the Moon etc.... theories and "maybe"s upon "maybe"s, yet they say you are stupid and ignorant if you have other views. I'd bet that 50% of what we know today will be either proved wrong or altered.
I hope somebody understands my point.

Those quotes from the magazines are absolutely priceless. I love them the most in comparison to other means of reasoning as it's like using their own weapon against them. I'm looking forward to try to apply your suggestions and thanks for your contribution to this thread. I hope it also helps other readers of the forum.

What was the most rebellious thing you did while you were a devout jw?
by DuvanMuvan ini was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.
well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
i'll start it off.

@Dismissing servant: Great, till now I thought it's the borg's fault that I can't manage to get dates, but your experience suggests that I can't blame the folks from Brooklyn for my antisocial personality. Now, it's either my parents' fault or only mine. Anyway, I think you got it by now that I'm ***king envy you!
As an answer to the question being discussed, I can't recall any wrongdoings I commited during the years that I was in darkness.

Wow, thanks to all of you. Very good and clear points. I'm kinda shocked by that quote from the WT, hipocrisy indeed.

In my mind, while reading the GB letter, I was trying to disprove them, their whole reasoning and point. I must say I'm dissapointed by myself as I realized I couldn't reason against them.
What could I say if I presented the facts about WTS's UN membership to a jw, and he'd in the same way the GB responded to Brant?
How would you respond to their letter?

Guess what Wasanelder, I'm excited too. If a movie is based on a book, I prefer it to stay as much close to the original story as it can. I never got why would screenwriters depict the ark the way they did, whereas the Bible describes quite in detail its shape and size etc.
I'll watch this movie not only because as a child I enjoyed the story of Noah but because I'm big fan of Russsel Crowe.

I too noticed this thing. I feel like need to vomit when I remember that I used to look up to those men as if they were rockstars.
I might open up a champagne to celebrate his "retirement"

How Were You Affected by All The Rules & Regulations From The Watchtower Society?
by minimus inthere are so many directives for elders, pioneers, ministerial servants and "publishers", it is mind boggling!!!.
to fulfill all of their expectaions, you would have to be perfect!.
i must say, that i really don't know how some do it, every day, ever week....i wonder how long some of the elders that frequent this board will still push the flock like the watchtower says they must..

I can see how it affects my parents. Dad is literally in zombie mode: his life mainly consists of working, eating and keeping up with the wts standards for an ms. WHILE my step mother under the excuse of pioneering doesn't go to work, has time to play on his galaxy s (!), watches tv all the time and complains about the lack of money.
I literally have no non-jw relatives and I probably will never get out.
We didn't have internet until recently when there was a talk at the meeting about how we should keep up with technology and use the new jw.org site.
