I sat at the DC today (yawn!) trying to keep myself entertained I looked around and was wondering to myself how many that were there today were lurkers, trolls & Fred Halls. What were the possibilities that some may have even read some of my comments. What fun! (OK, I know it doesn't take much for me, and it was better than sitting there taking notes)
It wasn't a total loss I did get to see some childhood friends that I grew up with that I hadn't seen for years.
As we were leaving out they were passing out the new Isaiah book. I was standing off to the side thinking we had 5300 people there today, I wondered how much they would take in donations for just the books. Naturally, they had the contribution boxes right there as they picked up the books. (how convenient, we wouldn't want our brothers and sisters to have to go out of their way to stuff money (donations) in the boxes).
But, as I was getting ready to leave I really got pissed off! Why?
My mother had just picked up 4 books. 3 were for other people that were not able to attend.
Then a brother loaded down with all kinds of book bags & lunch boxes asked the brother for 8 books all for baptized publishers. The one handing out the books looked at him and said, "8 books!".
The brother said, "yes, I need 8".
The one handing out the books said, "that is allot for one, maybe you should wait for tomorrow or maybe you can bring someone with you to request more (like he was trying to rip off the org. and was going to sell the books for profit Yeah, right!)
I looked at the brother as he then requested 4 books with the hope of getting the rest tomorrow. The one handing out the books said, "how about two" (what power he had to determine who got what, remember my mother had just picked up 4 books)
That poor brother all loaded down looked as if he had the wind knocked out of him. I touched him on the elbow in front of the (powerful man giving out the books) I said, "Here brother you can take one of my books I can get another one tomorrow".
Not meaning to toot my own horn, The question is who was the true Christian? the one giving out (I mean not giving out) the books or the border line apostate.
If there are two categories,
(1) JW's or (2) Apostate's with genuine love and concern for people of all faiths, I say "sign me up for the Apostate's.
What a sad thing, Even more sad, that brother really wanted those books!
Before someone gets their panties in a wad about my comments, I would like to clarify that I know not all JW's are like that, and I hope that one day they too will see the light.
