  Hi there Rex,

  I see you are impressed with the increase of Baptism but there is one group that grows much more according to one of your faith’s magazines:

  Atheism: Fastest Growing American Religion
  “Surveys show atheism as the fastest-growing American belief. Up to 8 per cent of adult Americans are atheists” says the April 5, Washington Times in a report titled “Humanists pronounce movement a positive force—Say its influence on culture cannot be stopped.” The Baptist Challenge May 1996. page 9.

  Now we know where you have got the delusion that Atheism is a religion.

  Among other gems you can find in this magazine is this:

  “Carl Sagan: “Educated Fool: Faces Death. World famous evolutionist and star of the “Cosmos” series Carl Sagan was named “Humanist of the Year” in 1981. He said back then he opposed the spread of Christianity. In the 3/18 USN&WR he says “...the Bible is demonstrably wrong in areas of science.” His new book is entitled: The Demon- Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. Sagan now faces death from a rare bone-marrow disease, and his despair is sad to behold (3/10 Parade): He says: “Four times now have I looked Death in the face ... I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But ...   Like the Watchtower this Baptist magazine also have “tips” on proper dress

  Styles in clothing get more and more relaxed. Many churches are feeling the strain of deciding if anything should be said about appropriate dress for church. Parents are sending their daughters in pants and shorts — some even in hot pants — to God’s house.” The Baptist Challenge May 1996. page 10.

  I can really understand that you feel at home in your “new” religion Rex, it is almost like the one you left.

  Fundamentalists of a different flock

  this is a short article from breakpoint and i think that the writer explains the christian view on recent events.

  i hope it reaches those who need it.. this shows why christians are different though being capable of some rather nasty acts.

  to my usual detractors, save your bluster as i will not respond to anyone who hijacks this thread with personal attacks.

  Hi Rex,

  How very nice, what admirable thoughts. Pity it breakes completely with christian history. That said, how is these commendable thoughts to be implemented? How can the Christian nation USA carry this out? How can the Afghanies be made to benefit from it?

  What are you and the Christians who "feel" this way going to do to make Bush adopt this idea. I mean God himself is of course always blesssing America, right?

  As Rex was alluding to my alleged "hate" for Jews because I think the Palestinian are entitled to resist the occupying force of Israel. That was the only thing I alluded to with my example above. The suicide bombing, killing civilians inside Israel and the WTC incident can't be defended or justified by anyone including me.

  The occupying force in Palestine, do however kill Palestinian civilians, including children, every day. Somehow those civilian Palestinian lives seem to be far less worth that those civilian Jews and Americans that were killed. Can you explain why?

  When arabs hear President Bush talk about fighting terrorism "everywhere" they say, great, and then ask themselves, will this also include Israeli terrorism?

  I criticise and condemn the killing of civilians everywhere. It is equally wrong no matter who does it. As we can see, the muslim terrorists of Al Quaida killed civilians, the Israelis kill civilians, now the Americans kill civilians in Afghanistan.
  Palestinian and Aghanistani civilians are clearly expendable, "collateral damage". Dead Israelis and Americans are "tragedies". Why?

  Could you perhaps explain jelly?

  Ah, so I was correct then, You either didn't read what Rushdie said or you didn't understand it. Are you able to substantiate your totally wild accusations here Rex. Is spouting such vile nonsense the only thing you know? Show me one single post with any proof that I hate Jew's and Christians, if not stop being such a blatant liar. Well, that last thing is probably too much to ask, you have to lie in order to exist in your dream world.

  When it comes to history you seem to be as ignorant as you are in everything else. I live in a nation where we were occupied by Nazi Germany, an occupation the population more or less actively resisted by carrying out sabotage and other types of resistance. That was called a fight for freedom back then, today a German occupying force would have called it "terrorism". Do you think you can understand that? Do you think you might learn anything from such a historic fact? Of course not.

  Hi Rex,

  It is very interesting that you should point to this article Rex.
  Rushdie is pointing to one thing that you hate more than anything as the hope of the Muslim world as it has showed itself to be when it was able to rid the western world of the stranglehold of Christian fundamentalists. You know, I don't think you read what Rushdie said, and if you did you certainly didn't undertand much of it.

  Read this and weep Rex:

  "If terrorism is to be defeated, the world of Islam must take on board the secularist-humanist principles on which the modern is based, and without which Muslim countries' freedom will remain a distant dream."

  I wholeheartedly agree with Rushdies observation here. Secular humanists was able to break the power of the insane Bible thumphers in our part of the world, now it is the time for the muslim world to do the same. How is it that you are against Muslim fundamentalism Rex, but are unable to see the rafter in your own eye, in your whining crusade against the very humanists that Rushdie talk about?

  its easy too criticize a religion.any person can do that.trash talking isnt accepted that well amongst the majority of people.why not find something better too offer people.now that would be a better thing too do.this board will probably fizzle out after a while.

  he told me that the proposed london bethel move to milton keynes had been scrapped.

  the reason, brooklyn feel that since sept 11 the big a is so close less than a year away (right!!!!!

  Sounds a bit suspicious to me as it goes against their previous "explanations" of their ceaseless building activity.

  Another question, I think it was you who told us about the new elder book, the "flock" book that was due to be published soon. If this is the case certain information I have got make me think that this book isn't due until late next year. Can you verify this?

  The WTS letter said:

  “The society was in 1991 registered as an NGO organisation only to get access to the Library of UN. This makes it possible for our writers - who get an ID-card - to use the Library of UN for research reasons to get information for articles about the UN. No secret about that.

  In that time for the original apply it wasn’t even a demand to sign an implication form. In the years after that – without the knowledge of the GB – UN make it official that as an NGO organisation you was demand to support and work for the purpose of UN.

  As usual Brooklyn can't open their mouth without lying. Although the original idea might be to get a library card they quickly discovered that the NGO status gave them access to all kinds of political lobbying all over the world. They sent representatives from the WTS to several political committeees and participated in several political hearings directly with the politicians. There is plenty of evidence for this on the net.

  Secondly they had to sign the application, we know who signed and can prove it. The conditions for signing was the same in 1991 as they are now, you had to support the work and purpose of the UN. The UN also require that the applications are renewd every other year, so even if what they say is true for 1991, they would have known of the change already in 1993. Anyone who read the Awake! magazine will see how it started to kiss up to the UN about 1992, and no doubt wanted to show the UN how it supported the UN work.

  The only reason they disaccosiated themselves so abruptly this month was the fact that they were caught with their pants down and had to react quickly so now they are geared for damage control. That is why you got your answer so extremely quick, they are really worried about this.

  Anyway, if you go to http://observer.org you will find plenty of proof of how much they lie in their answer to you.
