Big Local Case, Sexual Abuse by former Elder, Police Raided the Kingdom Hall ! Kent, U.K !

the police have started an investigation where a woman has courageously come forward about her sexual abuse by a former elder, who had a record of doing such things with the local congregation, and i think it was all covered up.

they have charged him, he is claiming he is not mentally fit to appear in court, i hope that lie does not hold up !.

this case was unknown to the local elders, but hopefully will now give the strength for other women, who were all very young and very vulnerable at the time , to come forward as well.

against our wishes she got baptised at 16 because she got brainwashed by her cousin.

the last year or so she hasn't been so gung ho about the "truth".

anyway the elders came down on her for not getting her time in the last couple months because she absolutely hates zoom letter writing.

It’s disgusting that these jumped up window cleaners think that they are trained in any way whatsoever.

I’m so sorry that they made your daughter feel the way she does. Unfortunately until she sees the light and realizes these idiots are just on a power trip, there isn’t a whole lot that can be done.

How do you switch off the thoughts of being raised JW and feelings of anger

raised as a jo blow and married into it.

37 years in it and now last 7 years out of it which feels great.. have memories of being a kid in school in the uk and just hating everything about being the jw kid.

bullied, embarrassed in front of others and self-esteem went into the toilet.wished i was born into a different family.. what angers me is the messaging i would receive at home when i talked about being bullied.

It comes and goes in waves for me. Especially being shunned by family.

But, I just think about the freedom to do what I want when I want with no one to judge.

i did this in my facebook group for my podcast and it was fun.. so what's the craziest thing you ever saw?.

for me it was watching a brother have a heart attack during the meeting in the auditorium.

i was a kid and noticed him shaking and acting strange.

Have you ever known elders who were more into being and elder than really being a believer?

i have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.

i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.

i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.

I think the praise and power is certainly a factor in any mans desire to be an elder.

Of the ones I knew, and it was a lot, including family members I’d say it would encompass all of them in some way.
