When is it time to fully open up to a spouse
by ihadnoidea inrecently my very active jw wife has been more critical of the wt and some of their stances.
she has particularly been critical of topics that hit home to some of the things going on in lives of our families.
i am still going through the motions as an active servant, but i am mentally out.

Sitting Still at Meetings has Become an Impossibility
by venusinfauxfurs insince i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.
i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.
i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

I think you are allergic to bullshit. Most people will do anything to avoid what they are allergic to.

Inactive, yet shunned!
by TimothyT inmy dad (49) (who was an elder for 10 year and hasnt been to the meetings now since april when i stopped going) sent a message to a younger unbaptised brother (19) in my congregation to see if they would like to get together and jam on their guitars.
the younger brother responded that he would like to but since my dad hasnt been to the meetings in a long time he feels its innapropriate.. needless to say my dad was a little pi**ed but at the same time he cant understand how he is also now being shunned despite the fact that he isnt even disfellowshipped.
why do these people show such conditional love when jesus taught the absolute opposite?.

I'm sick of the human race!
by watersprout ini really am... just been attacked for posting on a dog rescue picture.
the dog was in a rta and as i was eating my dinner and couldn't see the pictures, heading or comments regarding the dog properly i posted that it could be ''dog bait injuries''... which in the area i live is a nasty problem which is rearing it's ugly head.
dogs are being stolen from back gardens to be used as bait.

No Room For George... If you were cold and hungry and somebody said lets just wait on Jehovah, You would probably punch them in the face.

Unconditional love?
by Snoozy inwhatever happened to "unconditional love"?.
why is it today so many are willing to shun a friend or relative because they are just too much trouble or they do something that irritates them.... they claim that the other person is "not healty for them" or "harmful to their mental health" be it a relative or a goof friend.
too ready to write them off so to speak.. what happened to the kind of unconditional love that loves in good and bad times..... i don't get it... i guess "unconditional love" doesn't exist anymore.

it is so much easier to accept people as they are. But to do that one has to stop being judgemental. and that can be very difficult to stop. Hang in there, it is good you still have people who help and cooperate with you though. by the way what i really mean is keep on hanging in there.

As one who is DF I can tell you there is a big differance on how thy treat a marked one and one who is DF. Good christians feel that they are nice to people and eat shit relatively often. So when they dont have to be nice they can dish it out in hefty portions. And go far beyoond the writen word.

Do you believe in Miracles?
by Snoozy indo you believe in miracles?
i know a lot of strange healings and such occur but why should it happen to one person and not another?
makes me doubt that real miracles exist... praying for someone..why should one person be prayed for and survive and another one prays and doesn't survive..is god choosey?.

I don't believe there is a heaven...
by Snoozy ini don't believe there is a heaven that so many religions teach, do you?
it all sounds like a fairy tale made up to make dying easier or as a threat to make someone have a conscience... i got into a discussion about it with my jw converted to catholic daughter and she just couldn't believe anyone could feel like i do.
i am glad she threw away the jw teachings and glad she believes in something so wonderful but i for one just can't.

why argue what is unproveable? let people who want to believe in JC believe in JC. Does it affect you adversely what they believe? It is like 2 people who have never even seen a car, arguing over how it works. There are worse things someone could believe in. let them be. By the wasy it is ok if you do not believe in JC or heaven. If there is a God of love he will undoubtly(hope that is a word) forgive you. If he doesnt then he is an asshole and you dont want to worship an asshole anyway. I cant forgive you because I dont think it is a sin. And if I am wrong and it is a sin it has to be a little itty bitty one.

both leavingwt and jookbeard are right. I continued to be judgemental even after I was DF'ed because that is the frame of mind that is drilled into you. I am still tring to break out of judgemental thinking.
