Too fat for the kingdom of God !
by koolaid-man informer jehovah's witness servant dick borghi along with elders in the lowell, ma.
congregation were asked by the circuit overseer to vote on whether to disfellowship overweight brothers and sisters.. this was very troubling to dick for two reasons.. 1... brother borghi thought it would be the responsibility of the faithfull and discrete slave to lay out a precise directive on the basis for this unusual request.
what criteria would have to be met to make such an awkward decision?.

Yep, I've seen most everything mentioned too but always from a devout JW perspective. Which is: A callous disregard for the suffering in the case of tragedies, "proof the end is near" view.
In the case of freedom efforts the JW view is: Those people are wasting their time and lives.
In the case of new discoveries and inventions the thought is: God doesnt like it. Example: TV (devils eyeball) medicine (enough said) Space exploration: A conspiracy to try to prove evolution. Music: Forget about it.
The only thing I could be happy about was Hula Hoops, Barbie, and contact lenses.

When I first started reading the OP I thought you were referring to the hundreds of thousands of kids (or more) who are/were Born In and held captive/kidnapped into a cult. This is a good thread.

Mary and Snowbird, Great work!
To BOTR: My parents were pretty good about giving me toys. My mom took advantage of Jan. sales and usually bought several. My dad bought me several new bicycles and other nice things. As a child, I came down with severe cases of Measles, Mumps, Whooping cough, and tonsilitis. (dog sick for 2 weeks each) I was thrilled when she brought home a wrapped present those times. Not everything about my upbringing was bad and I never had a doubt they loved me. That's partly why I became a true believer dispite our highly dysfunctional household.

Wow, takes me back. Some of my best memories growing up involved my best friend and our passion for all things Beatle. Screaming our lungs out at the theater playing "Hard Days NIght". Playing their albums thousands of times (at her house. my parents -too strict). Knowing I was going to marry Ringo. I know, I know, he was already married but we were 12. haha
Thanks for the vids

"Big enough" to one person is not big enough for others. Some times the "mistake" has to hit directly on the head. It wasn't until my elderly widowed mother was treated discracefully by the WT$ that I started to wake up.
