Dear Zid, Cross post away! (I'm the OP) The ever so valid point being made is that there is nothing whatsoever the WTS does not attempt to control. The personal matter of dress is beaten to death. It's doing much more harm than good.

Do You Miss Even A Little Bit Your "Friends" From The "Truth"?

some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

Very, few. My best friend was DF'd a number of years ago when I was "in". I refused to shun her but she explained that I needed to so as to expidite her reinstatement. She wanted to be able to truthfully say she wasn't talking to any JW's (not breaking any rules) I respected her decision but it was AGONIZING waiting the 3 yrs it took those a$$holes to let her back. Now the only reason I don't resign is so that I don't put her in a position to have to worry about me. I never want to loose her again. I believe in time I can help her out of this cult.

What is the stupidest comment you ever heard at a meeting?
by 3rdgen ina very reliable friend told me this: the bro was commenting on what was "unacceptable" conduct in the bedroom between married persons.
needless to say, he had everyone's attention.
he went on to say "we must avoid perversions such as oral and annual sex.

To Mary, Atta girl for telling that bASStard off. Just curious, were you "in" when you did that? Most people don't have the courage while under the control of the cult. Also, as I mentioned before, when a person is in grief/shock these mean comments blindside you. You are not expecting an additional verbal assault/betrayal by anyone much less your spiritual family.

There seems to be no end to the heartless remarks. My sympathy to you all. Many many horrible comments were said to my husband about my unbaptized son. He's kept them to himself to spare my feelings.

KEEP ALL DOUBTS TO YOURSELF can not be overemphasized. If anyone (even a close relative) thinks you don't believe EVERYTHING you're done.

To James Woods, I think it is NAIEVE to think a multi- billion $$$ publishing co. that depends on keeping its tax-fee income status would not be resourceful enough to place "Plants" in various govnmt. agencys. After all, nobody disputes that they joined the UN as a NGO and pulled that off for years. A corporations function is to preserve itself by what ever means is reasonably nessessary. As for adopting the donation arrangement for literature, it was not only to avoid sales tax it was to preserve the INCOME tax-free status. An insider tip influenced the TIMING of the change.

Thanks Everyone for your great responses. This thread reinforces my decision to permantly leave the asssylum/org. To Sistif: Was the idiot that assigned you to the same BS as your ex the same idiot that asked him to pray after his hideous comment? To Jeffro: Funny stuff! To NDrew: In all my years "in" I NEVER had good sex in the minestry. (Maybe it was just me)
