Sherlock Holmes and the Kingdom Hall...

so last night as the wife and i were on our way to the movie theater (went to see the new sherlock holes movie) we passed by the kingdom hall.

since thursday is a meeting night the kh parking lot was packed.

i couldn't help but grin at the thought that those chumps were sitting in there listening to such boring shit in those uncomfortable meeting clothes, and i was about to have a great time seeing a fun and entertaining movie, eating pop corn and sipping a soft drink.

Thanks for your post TimeBandit, It made me smile. The KHs in our area are all in secluded neighborhoods so that we would have to drive far out of our way to pass them. It's good to be reminded of the many "perks" of leaving the WT$.

at one time i felt my jw famliy members hated me.

because i turn my back on the cult.. today i feel sorry for them and it,s not hate they.

feel.. they way i see it, first of all it,s frustrating serving a. god that you can never please, serving a god that.

There are some excellent answers here. Now that I am mentally free, I feel more compassion for ALL disadantaged people inside and out-particually children.

For me it boils down to nice people vs. pious ones. I have no pity for those with superior attitudes ,those who are happy, or hipocrits. I save my pity for those whose spirit is broken like a beaten horse, who because of FEAR of DISPLEASING GOD do what they are told by the WT$. I also feel for those who are trapped in for the sake of close family.

as all dogs available there are, he was neutered when i got him.

If the lifespan of humans is about 80-90 years aren't ALL people "Temporary Residents"? Why waste what few years we have plodding from d2d and sitting through painfully dull meetings. There is so much to learn and so few years in which to learn it.

I am one of those young people who read that WT march of 1969 in my senior year of HS. I was strongly influenced by the attitude of the WT$ not to bother learning anything becuse to do so was "like playing shuffleboard on the Titanic" I feel like an idiot now in more ways than one.

Thanks Blondie, for your commentery and WT quotes. Those that were not in the Borg during the late 60s and early 70s may not realize how emphatic they were about the Great Tribulation being OVER on or before 1975. "Evidently" was not used in talks about the "End" at that time "certainly" was the word . The audasity of the GB blaming the flock for "jumping to conclusions" is infuriating. I KNOW what was said by their representives, COs and DOs I was THERE and I was listening. (unfortunately)
