Would YOU Have Refused Blood To Remain Faithful To Your JW Beliefs?
by minimus ini believe that most witnesses would refuse blood to show their faithfulness to jehovah's law on blood transfusions....( that sounds silly, huh?).

Very sorry to say I'm positive I would have refused blood for myself and my children while they were young. However, when the WTBT$ started allowing fractions, it really threw me. At first I thought they were being too leinient and refused fractions on my blood card. Later when hubby and I stopped attending we didn't receive the cards and we didn't ask for them. At that point, there is a good chance we would have accepted whole blood. By the time we were mentally out our cards were several years old and we threw them in the trash where they belong.

Thanks sloppyjoe2, Magnum and finally awake. Hubby and I left after nearly 6 decades of sacrifice and servitude. He realized there was somthing seriously rotten in Watchtower before I did, but once I did, I ran with it faster than he, partly because I have more free time to read and think. I talk incessently about the subject especially the funny stuff- It keeps me sane and from crying. He doesn't want to be reminded every day because he is bitter, angry. and touchy. It's like a very bad sunburn and I keep unintentionally rubbing it.

Hi everyone! Today I was reminded that just because both of us left the WTBT$ we are not always on the same page. This could be because of our very different personalities I guess. Still, one would think discussions of the Borg would not lead to arguments but often they do. Is this true for you? Does one of you want to talk or read about "apostate" topics more than the other? Does one of you just want to leave most all thought and discussion and move on? Is one of you more angry? Do these differences cause arguments? Thanks!

When did the WTS begin to require baptismal candidates to answer 2 questions. What were they?
by AndersonsInfo ini need some research done so if anybody has the time, please see what you can find on the subject as stated in the title.. i clearly remember attending my first circuit assembly.
on october 30, 1956, i definitely answered two questions, along with about ten other people including my mother, not at the assembly, but we were standing at the side of a small baptismal pool that was in the basement of a kingdom hall in ronkonkoma, then a small hamlet on long island in the town of islip, suffolk county, new york, united states.. i know for a certainty that in 1945 candidates for baptism were not asked any questions but they were informed through their congregation that there would be a baptism and told where and when it was to be held.
usually the baptism was done at a beach and when candidates showed up in bathing attire, they were dunked, no questions asked.. so sometime between 1945 and 1956 two specific questions began to be asked of candidates.

Pete, (love your last name) They may have changed the word God to Jehovah. I don't remember but until the big change in the 80's the vows were pretty much the same.

Purging and letting go of the past
by Skinnedsheep inmy wife and i decided that today would be the day that we would let go of the past.
we collected all of our watchtower published books and brochures and threw them out.
it was honestly bitter sweet to toss our old pioneer books, marked up insight books, and notes from 25 years of conventions.

ENFP here. Must be why it took so much and so long to leave the Borg. I always wanted to be in show biz instead of a cult.

Hilarious Rumor: Halloween falls on Friday the 13th for first time in 666 years.
by OnTheWayOut inthe date passed by already, so i will mention the silly rumor that was going around.
this is freaking hilarious.
the rumor is a gullibility joke where it is hoped that the reader fails to remember that this holiday observance is on the fixed date of october 31st.

My personal experience with Hi IQ people: The higher the IQ the less likely they are to act like they are superior or have all the answers. The least intelligent of my aquaintances are impressed with themselves and what they THINK they know.
