  rejection of your own founder?

  what kind of confidence can anyone have in an organization that rejected its founder and first two presidents for the first 63 years of its existence?

  that's 53% of the time they existed!

  prayer is the act of saying something to someone that doesn't exist.

  above all else, we need to respect ourselves for, if we don't, we are not capable of respecting others..

  thirdly, bow to no one for if they had any respect for you, they wouldn't ask you to bow..

  My thoughts on Gods existence: Agnostic If there is/was a creator it's long gone now creating something/someone else.

  My thoughts on prayer: Either God doesn't exist, so you're talking to yourself or you're talking to someone who already knows what you need even before you do so why should you have to ask? Is this creature's ego so fragile it needs praise first before it will grant a request? You must beg? That sounds like an unloving temperamental artist. Why would i want to talk to it?

  so you all know that my wife is still blinded....i am well awake and so are our son's.

  so she is expecting me to use my vacation time from work to attend the d.c. waste 3 days of dribble from the cult.

  what of waste of time....yet i will do it to keep the peace.

  You have the head of the house card to play if you want to. You can drop her off at the RC and take the boys with you to do something fun. Let them decide if they would rather sit all day in dress clothes listening to boring talks with mom or go to (fill in the blank with their favorite thing) with you.

  i could not put it down!

  even in front of my jw wife and her family.

  Yup, 3 days for me too. By chapt. 3 I was mentally out but couldn't put it down. I never bothered with ISCF. The Mexico Malawi issue was enough to convince me that there was NO Holy Spirit operating on this organization therefore, doctrines were irrelevant. Instead, went straight to Steven Hassen.

  If only I would have given myself permission to read COC when it first came out! Better late than never, though.

  Has anyone heard feedback from the "youth" about these videos? I don't mean young children but tweens and teens. Are these videos having the desired effect on that age group? Just curious.

  If Women were elders, would it make a difference in the organization?

  they qualified because they started reaching out in their early teens.

  persistently and methodically they worked their way through the ranks by pioneering then becoming a m.s.

  Thanks for posting this, Barbara.

  According to pew, only 35% of JWs are male. If you take into account the many who are only there to keep peace in the family or to help their loved ones out, the percentage of BELIEVING males would be even lower.

  JA, Boy, are you dreaming! :)

  Most of the women appointed would be the wives of current elders, widows. and older sisters. Few would be hot. The sexy types would not be appointed in the first place because the frumpy elderettes would have a large say in the process.

  An attractive single sister is often treated like dirt by the married sisters in the hall. Trust me, I know.
