  The most frightening haircut of my life ...

  this morning i went for a haircut, and since my usual stylist (caroline, quick with the clippers and a joke, does magic with my floppy mop of hair), was out, i told the receptionist i'd settle for whoever was available.

  after a moment i was handed over to "winnie," whom i recognized as a witness from a neighboring congregation -- alas, not before she'd roughly dunked my head in the sink.

  i was pretty sure she recognized me, too.. "so how have you been, dedalus," she said.. "um, just fine, and you?

  What's wrong w/JW's?

  i would sincerely like to know what is so wrong with jehovah's witnesses.

  i invite anyone to post here.

  please use facts not personal opinions.. i am not interested in dates, the blood issue, nor the disfellowshipping issue since i am conviced that these do not prove that they are wrong.. i am weighing in to see if you as an opposer of jehovah's witnesses have the facts or not.

  uhh GodRules...from one dub to another..the Blood issue is not as cut and dry..frankly many in my cong dont understand it and some dont agree with it...the fact that my cong is in the vicinity of Bethel doesnt hurt either..I seriously wonder how much "help" the WTS has given to the medical community regarding the Blood issue...Last time I was at Bethel, I didnt notice any LAB's. The fact that the medical community has come up with alternative solutions is hardly evidence of Jehovah's approval of this policy.
  
  Granted humans do make mistakes. Esp when related to Jehovahs service...but the fact the the WTS has failed to admit these is clearly a pattern. We are told to seek Gods kingdom first..to preach the truth to the nations...but when this truth changes, when you question "truth".. sooner or later the boys will rebel....

  Uh, know-it-all: Norm has been doing this for years and years. He's helped countless dozens or hundreds to leave the WTS. He's an expert witness in JW child-custody cases. I find it laughable that you are giving him advice.

  I never claimed to be a "know it all"..and the fact that you find it laughable sounds as pompous as a C.O. giving a talk on Evolution.

I would imagine it is your desire to bring the WTS down. The only way this will ever happen is to draw away its support. The only way to draw away its support is to present the facts. The only way to present the facts is to be reasonable.

  I think it odd that everyone consider the dubs "brainwashed". I have never considered myself brainwashed..mindlessly believing everything that comes from the The Heights. Your classification that EVERYONE who is a dub is part of the "idiot geneartion" is as stupid as the JW teaching of Blood.

  3 of the Slimiest positions in the WT Org.

  i think three of the slimiest jobs you can have in the wt org.

  1) public relations; (you have to tell lots of 12, 14, truths).

  four thumbs down.. 2) writer; (you have to be able to slant the truth or someone will replace you).. 3) legal department, ( lie with zeal for your side, and instruct others how to lie with zeal).. .

  NO NO NO.......the worst responibility.......CONGERGATION SERVICE OVERSEER......we just were announced the visit of our service overseer to our bookstudy next week...........oh sure the thought of cutting the bookstudy by 15 minutes sound great at first.but then having to sit through this painfully ill-prepared 15 min discourse on seeking first the kingdom is more painful than apostates re-hashing 1975.

  Did I do the right thing?

  my wife is still a loyal dub, and i allow her to take my son (13 years) and daughters (9 & 11) to the meetings, assemblies and on the service.

  i cannot talk to her about her beliefs because, well, she refuses to talk about them.

  she knows that i no longer believe, but not much in the way of detail.

  Last I heard the dubs weren't "forcing" anyone to attend meetings. A letter to the elders will do nothing more than mark you as a psycho.
  If your wife takes your kids to the halls that would be between you and your wife. The congergation would naturally help your wife out becuase they believe that instruction from God is superior to the demands of a husband. Do like most unbelieving mates do..watch rated R movies, Skinamax is always nice, and buy them Christmas presents.

  Apostates at assemblies...

  anyone here got any stories about apostates going on the rampage at any meetings, assemblies, conventions.. i haven't seen any but a young witness told me that his previous cong.

  called the police to a meeting cos a df person went apesh*t once.. also, all aussie jw's should know about the riot at a glenelg convention in adelaide in the 1940's where apostates rushed to the sound equipment and some jw stood in there way and kinghit one of them.

  next you should try the tactic that we dubs use in the field service......set up somhwere and strike up a fake conversation with your friend......others are bound to here....if they are like most people, however, when they here us...they will run the opposite way.
