Do You Fully Support "Obamacare"?
by minimus inis it everything you thought it would be?
.
are you happy that this law is being initiated?.

As a provider (psychotherapist) Obamacare is a nightmare. So much so that many of the clinics in my area are going cash only. The MD I get the vast majority of my referrals has already taken himself all insurance boards, lowered his office charge and is cash only.
Those of you who think they will be able to keep their own insurance as Obama promised are going to be very disappointed. You may keep your own insurance, but that does not mean the same doctor you have always liked will continue to accept your insurance. In fact those who will automaticly go to Obamacare, such as medicaide and medicare are going to be hard strapped to find a doctor period, as the payments to providers are going to be far less than what the government pays now, which is already far less than what commercial insurances pay.
Here are some figures:
I charge $150. per session of 45 minutes. Commercial insurance pays out 80% with the patient responsible for the remaining 20%. With mediaide I can only charge $30 for 10 sessions per calander year. Medicare will reinburse $30 and I can charge the patient only 20% more. Now if, like many other providers, I decided to be cash basis only I charge $100. per session because I do not have any paperwork to file to get paid.
You see folks, health providers have to support a family too, and I do not know of any provider who is going to accept across the board a fraction of what they are accustom to.

Has Your Personality Changed Since Leaving The Witnesses?
by minimus ini have an aquaintance that likes to say, "once an a hole always an a hole".
i guess you could reason that whatever your religious views were, your core is you are who you are.. did your personality change for better or worse when you left the organization?.

Been out 27 years. Happier, educated, worked in my field of CHOICE, not cleaning toilets or washing windows. I feel satisfied with myself; at peace. Oh I have flaws that I would like to overcome, but I do not mind chalking my flaws up to being a human.

Only "TIME" matters
by Roberta804 init was last year at easter time that i had a big insight that still looms large with me.
my elderly mother was living with me and she had been suffering from dementia.
i was taken aback why this one elder would come over once a month to try to get my mom to come up with 15 minutes of fs.

I was taken aback why this one elder would come over once a month to try to get my mom to come up with 15 minutes of FS. I then understood that "time" was the value exchange in this crazy religion. The more "time" you reported, the more valuable you were to the Printing Company. It now made perfect sense why the only time my mother ever spent with me was "time" she could count. She made me have a bible study with her twice a week--- hated it, and why absolutely everything she would talk about would somehow, somewhat end up JW related. She was obsessed with counting her "time". She recently passed away... but what a horrible way to spend your entire life obsessed with JW "time".

Moshe,
Were you around when the book studies were into the book "The Finished Mystry"? It was in the 1970s. I bet we went though that damn book 5 times. All it talked about was dates and the UN.

Short version, born in, married in, left when I was 24 after my son turned 5. Couldn't see raising him the way I was raised. My husband and I were part of the 1985 witch hunts. We are still married, 35 years now. Had two sons, and now have 4 grandchildren. In my 20s, I got my GED, communitiy college and then university. Master's degree in social work. Hubby also return to college, engineer. Oldest son a chemical engineer and MBA, youngest son in med school. I have never, ever looked back even for a second. I rely on my hubby who was not born-in to help me out socially, born-ins really do have disadvantage not having any reference point.

warped logic from the memorial talk
by why144000 inspeaker said we should not partake because when jesus arrives he will take the remnat to heaven and the memorial will be no more.
just as we will not partake then (because the memorial will not exist) it is only logical that we will not partake now.
warped logic at its finest!.
