Good Lord..... I am so use to hearing, "Jesus loves you" since I left, that to hear "The GB loves you" sticks out like a turd in a pan of milk.

A hard wallet to block rfid, half used kleenex, a perscription bottle with one pain pill and one anti-anxiety pill, Wisps toothbrushes, small bottle of mouthwash, fuzzy socks (I always take off my shoes), hair brush, a month's worth of receipts, junk mail and maybe a good novel.

Hello??
by franticfran ini have just joined this website and just wanted to say hello to anyone out there.
i am so nervous,after thirty odd years in the "truth" i feel as though my husband and i have just walked into a room full of smiling strangers and we are just standing here hoping to god someone will come up and speak to us.
scared and excited and hoping to wake up one morning and not wonder what we do now???

Can you imagine the JW trying to convince Catholics that the Borg is more important than Mary???? The Borg is the absolute opposite of all that Mary stands for. I know many here choose not to have any religious beliefs, and that is OK, but to me Mary is my heavenly mother. I pray to her all the time, I make rosaries in her honor. It is her atributes that bring me comfort. I can not, for the life of me, understand where the Borg got the very nerve to refer themselves as "Mother". It is sickening.

Arbol,
Love your suggestion. Weed just before the meeting will make it pass faster. I used to take vodka with me and take hits in the john. Write draft letters to those you want/need to write to. Take a college class and do your homework in a discreat way. My favorite is sit at the back, leave as the program starts, go shopping, and come back 10 minutes before they end. By the time they suspect what you are doing summer will be over.

I was a born in and for a long time I too kept the central tennets of the borg. However after one experiences the acceptance of Jesus Christ as God everything changes. I doubt anyone here on this board would deny that the borg uses divide and conquor as their power play. Well they also do this with Jehovah and Jesus. Jehovah is the BIG Cheese and Jesus is nothing more than Jehovah's side kick. Sort of like Batman and Robin. Once it is realized this is not the case, everything the borg teaches comes crumbing down.

i resigned in the early 70's---but dithered as a guest at meetings for a few years--to keep marital peace.
but no field service at all--honest lol.. all connection to the cult ended in jan 1981---i had an affaire with a married sister--she got d/f--but--i'm told----it was announced=--i couldnt be d/f as i was no longer a jw---but was declared to be an apostate !!.

If you had a JC and spilled your "Personal Beans" did you really think it stayed confidential?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inwe all "know" jc's are suppose to be private....so that the uniniated, innocent, can speak freely.
i say, uninitiated, because once you spill your guts and the elders use your embarassing, heart wrenching story as a lead off at their next get together/party, for a laugh, you have been initiated into your local brothers hall of fame.. so, are those jc's, really private?.
can you really talk privately, about your love of violent video games, masterbation, oral sex, shop lifting, doing drugs, or "doing" anything or anybody, and expect total confidentiality in the watch tower society elder world?.

Even though I know there is no such thing as confidentality in the KH it should be. As a social worker I can lose my license to practice with just one breach. Also if I am made aware of abuse of any kind or of possible suicidal behavior, even second hand, in Michigan, I most certainly will lose my license if I do not report it within a 24 hour period. The same is true with teachers, doctors and many other professions. Now even though an elder does not have a license to lose, he is still liable and can be sued for failing to maintain confidentality and for failure to warn/protect.
My BIL became an elder 5 years after my husband and I DA ourselves. Our eldest son was 12 when the new flegling elder BIL started to voice to our son that I was a wicked mother and told my son some things in my past I am not too proud of. After I threaten to sue the KH and the WBTS he was quickly removed as an elder which established guilt and then I did take them to court, but settled out of court for an amount I can not disclose.
So do not think you are at the mercy of the elders, or that you have no legal recourse. As the judge stated in my case, anyone who accepts a position of responsibility, paid or not, is expected to understand the consequences if they fail to meet these very basic values.

My family was Catholic for centuries before mom went JW. one of my goals is to make my mother's mistake just a blimp in our family history. I sent my boys to Catholic schools and got established at a local parish. It took a lot of getting use to, but now I feel right at home.

yesterday at a exercise class i met a very nice lady who, along with her husband left the same kh i attended.
they left 4 years ago.
