Homeschooling?

how in the heck can the school board justify turning the education of anyone over to some jacka$$ that dropped out of school to pioneer and makes their living cleaning toilets!
how can any parent that truely loves their kid not take a good long look at themselves and say "i am not the best teacher for this child.

CHRISTMAS DINNER WHAT DID TOU ALL HAVE???????++
by vitty inwe had, wait for it.....................home made beef curry and it was fantastic .
i was going to make a dinner, but since there only 3 of us and were not quite there yet, we decided to have our favorite....curry ym.
if the day ever comes and my daughter and her man are out ill have the biggest christmas ever.. but for now, i feel a little empty, and id feel fake, you know trying to enjoy it.

Is it better to bottle up your feelings?

people always say you shouldn't bottle up your emotions, that it's not healthy.. but if you think it's wrong to feel a certain way...(ex.
jealous, anxious), isn't it better to swallow it into your stomach so no one gets hurt?

I have always found that going with your "gut" feeling usually is the best. I don't know how many times I have not listened to my "gut" feeling, and I have payed for it everytime.
These feelings, do they make you feel happy or sad. Find out why you feel that way about either one. Any emotions that I have "bottled" up in the past, always came back to haunt me in the future. Most times those feelings coming back had a higher price to pay than if I had just dealt with them at the time. You mentioned someone getting hurt. Hurting a little is better than hurting alot more in the future. Plus, bottling up these emotions hurts you as well. It can cause physical illness as well.
Hiding from your feelings to me, means your hiding from yourself. Dealing with your feelings is never an easy thing, if it were, everyone would do it, and the world would be a better place.
Your emotions come down to your happiness. What good is it to bottle up your feellings and cause you unhappiness. You could be having some sort of denial about your feelings. Obviously whatever feelings your having, there's a reason for them. Your subconsious maybe trying to tell you something.

"Brainwashing" does not exist
by logansrun inthe term "brainwashing" is sometimes thrown around this forum and i thought i'd briefly comment on it.
the idea that a group or person can actually make you think, act and feel in a certain way is highly dubious.
i'm not saying it's impossible, but i highly doubt that any ex-jws have ever experienced "brainwashing.

I do think it's a "form" of mind control. Avi made an example of himself as a child raised a jw. I too was raised a jw. Avi, you made mention of things not fitting or didn't seem right. I felt the same way. However, I also believe that the ones who see things like that are the exception, not the rule. If that happened with all or most jw's, we'd see more out, or maybe even the collapse of the wts. For most that are raised a jw, they are fed so much bull, and not allowed to explore the world, that I do feel it is a form of brainwashing. You don't need drugs to mentally put someone off balance. Look closely at children who are raised as a jw, most/majority of them tremble at the thought of thinking for themsleves or "making it" on there own in the real world.
Anything in this life depends on a point of view. We're all different, so we'll all have a different point of view.
