I understand your outlook, I have also wondered about such an act. To say that I believe it, no but the scriptures also come down to each ones own interpretation. You also have to remember that the scriptures are interpreted by man and so I feel it's safe to assume that some are incorrect in there translation, but to put it on the male gender is a bit of a stretch, we are all imperfect so anything we are involved in will be flawed in one way or another.

What don't you miss about meetings?

i don't miss being spoken to like i was someones best friend when i know they wouldn't pee on me if i was on fire.. i don't miss always standing on my own and having no one come and talk to me.. i don't miss having people talk around me about the great time they had at the latest sport/barbecue/dinner get-together which i wasn't invited to because i'm not spiritual enough.. i don't miss not having friends in the truth or out of the truth because i shouldn't mix with wordly people.. i don't miss being so bored for all those hours a week.. i don't miss all the false smiles people give me when i look at them at the hall and the way they look away when i walk past them at the shopping center.. .................. anyone got anymore?

Are all women psychos?
by roybatty inim not sure if i was married to a psycho or not and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ex.
weve been divorced for 2-1/2 years and have had our ups and downs.
because shes a diehard jw and doesnt have grounds to get re-married i get an ear full from her blah...blah.. anyway, one minute shes like "its terrible that i have to wait for you to get married before i can" and then this past weekend she calls me to talk.

There is a rat on this forum
by jesusstolemyhotrod ini think someone on this forum is a rat....or troll as i think they are called.. i am sitting at home last night watching fear factor, and there was a knock at the door.. i opened it to find two elders from my old hall.
they did not seem very sincere when they apologized for disturbing me without notice.. they said the purpose of there visit was to just to check up on me, find out if my circumstances or opinions had changed.
we ended up in a huge conversation about my "inactivity", they wanted to know if there was anything keeping or holding me back from the truth, and wanted to know if there was anything i needed to get of my chest, cause guilt has away of keeping people back.

You know larc, if we as a group who have in one way or another been afflicted by the Watchtower organization let the teachings affect us in our daily lives it will eat us up inside causing so much stress and pain. Earlier you made mention about god existing or not, well if he does I truly believe god did not intend us to live with so much pain, and if he does not then we are letting men cause this pain and controlling our lives. I feel your dilemma, and wish I to could put my foot down and say enough but when family is a constant it makes it difficult.

Who here is shunned by family?
by Brummie inremember the watchtower that asked "are jws a cult?
" and then listed things that cleared it of the accusations of being such?
cant remember the date.. anyway one of the things it said was that "cults" usually have a lot of ex members testifying against it and the damage it has caused to their family lives.

I been df'd for 12+ years I'm 33 and I have talked to my father once since then and that was only to let him know I was still alive. My mother died when I was 18.

C of C Just Arrived
by eyeslice incrisis of conscience has just been delivered by mail to my office.
i wouldn't dare let it be delivered to home in case my wife found out.. i am still "in", so the question is, should i read it?
and if so, are my days as a jw numbered?.

Yes no problem, I was engaged to a black sister when I was much younger and also still a jw. I loved her so much that after we were caught doing the nasty I got her away from me as quickly as possible ( the elders thought I was a bad influence ) so she would not be df'd. It worked I was she wasn't....then I find out years later that she got pregnant and was df'd. I personally did not see or feel any difference.
