The reason I left was the utter hypocrisy and outright corruption. Not to mention now that I have done research (which btw the witnesses have strict rules about not doing unless it is the WTBTS publications) and from what other ex witnesses have said about their experiences regarding the harbouring and defending of kid touchers and family abusers. You will see, if you keep doing research, that the witnesses are rotten from the top to the bottom. Also, you will see that the witnesses are nothing more than a multi level marketing type of organization just selling literature and making some corporate fat cats even richer on the backs and hard work of its cult members under the guise and tyranny of a religion.

New and Curious
by ttw1981 ini'm trying to read through some posts on this board to see what the central focus is, who comes here, etc.
it looks like many people here are ex-jw's, but are all?
or is it a combination of both?

Combination of both. I do believe there are more exjw's than there are others. Btw. Welcome. Hope this place answers your questions and serves your needs.

Which meeting did you hate the most?
by lfcviking infor me it was the tuesday night book study.
i didn't like reading, opening/closing with prayers and the uncomfortable, close, claustrophobic setting it was in.
this meeting was the first one to be binned when i started to fade.

Thursday night service meeting and school. Nothing like working 8-12 hours and having to haul ass home, shower, change, most times not even eat, then go to a meeting until 10 o clock. Then get home eat something go to sleep and trudge through friday at work starting at 5am ,working on 4 or sometimes 5 hours of sleep.

>>>>Having said that, I am still a dedicated PC gaming fan. I'd rather play a PC game any day. It's always a few steps ahead of console games in graphics and tech, you can usually customize the games much more, but it's just more expensive if you want the latest and greatest hardware. I haven't done the figures yet, but I have a theory that if you buy the latest console gaming system and games to go with it, you could have upgraded your PC hardware. I could be wrong, but... well... I just love PC games!<<<<
Exactly. That is what I did. I built my PC about 3 months ago. Since I built it myself and bought my own parts, not only did I get exactly what I wanted, I built a machine that is almost future proof. SO when the next console comes out my PC is already speced WAAAAYY beyond it already with just the addition of another video card. Not to mention that a LOT of PC games are cheaper (cough, cough torrent.) -

I have a corner in the living room now where the desk is set up. My 3 year old uses the computer so we need it where we can keep an eye on her. We used to have it in one of the spare bedrooms. There it was easier to look at 'educational' websites (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) but I can't do that anymore.

If it wasn't for "....................." I'd still be in the "Truth".......
by ScoobySnax infor me i think if it wasn't for the fact i'm gay, i'd still be an active witness.
this year, even my mum has said that it wouldn't be "appropriate" if i was to go to the memorial.
now the memorial is something i've never missed, so that kind of stings a bit.

If it was not for CLEAR thinking and using COMMON SENSE. That goes for all religion, not just the witnesses. Even after I left the witnesses I tried to believe there was a god. I tried looking for him/her/it. I even went as far as doing the born again thing. You know asking Christ to blah blah blah. In the end I see how it is ALL rubbish. Now that I think and see clearly I realize that I do not need that invisible sky captain, that book of fairy tales and fables, or the hollow empty threats that has kept ignorant sheeple in check and blind.

So thus far $9.5 million dollars for a missile and $1.2 B-I-L-L-I-O-N for a crashed stealth bomber. That is $1,209,500,000.00 in exploded tax dollars. That does not even count the millions of dollars blown away in Iraq and Afghanistan. Twas an expensive week in the USA. Better ask the Chinese for another loan.
