Last Night I was surrounded by Jehovah's Witnesses . . .
by Terry inlast night was the "body viewing" at the funeral home for the jw whose friendship and influence resulted in my getting baptised in 1963. we weren't just friends.
we had a david & jonathan bromance :) no seriously, we loved each other dearly.. it's only in the last 2 years he shunned me.
before that, he would sneak behind the curtain of stealth, so to speak, and we'd sit for hours each and every week chatting, reminiscing and sometimes arguing about the truth about the "truth.".

Sorry about your friend Terry. I'm glad you felt a sense of elation seeing old friends and being able to attend a close friends funeral. But feeling's aside they are the very same people that discarded you when you needed them, they are the very same people who crossed the road to avoid you, they are the very same people who will ignore and shun you tomorrow. Part in good terms but you know where they stand. -

How are awake JWs going to deal with the life and death, Dual Power of Suicide, no blood card issue?
by Island Man inthere was a recent leak of a letter to congregations regarding a new dpa no blood card.
part of the letter reads as follows:.
as a reminder, you should provide copies of your completed advance decision document to (1) those who served as witnesses, (2) your general practitioner (doctor), and (3) your congregation secretary.

No better way to find out who's still on the tit and who's unlatched. I've often wondered how many awake and going to the meeting's still carry their blood cards with them? -

There seems to be many jw's marrying outside of org recently.
by atomant inl was wondering if others have noticed this or is just my imagination?my sister whom has always been a fine example of a dub just got married to an outsider was a shock to everyone as no one knew she was dating an outsider.she seems happy.the elders are to shit scared of her to approach her about the matter.

Amazing Growth! Jehovah Is Blessing The Preaching Work!
by Divergent intoday's text:.
saturday, april 2. the little one will become a thousand.—isa.
60:22.. perhaps we live in an area where there are few witnesses or where we do not see a lot of immediate results in our preaching work.

Just because the JW'S are wrong doesnt mean theres no god.
by atomant inl;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.

Your right, God has nothing to do with the validation of the JW's religion. They are just another religion out of 80'000 plus that inhabit the earth with a message of "do as I do or die, because God said so". The Ten commandments are just some basic laws created to control some very simple minded people. Read them over and over do you really think God would say that. I could come up with more creative things to say, to impress a very primitive people. Example “You shall have no other gods before me"
Really, so God has no power to remove these other gods from the land because he is just another man made god. The power is in the people to decide not to have another god before them. If they do then the elder's or men in charge have the authority to murder you for disobeying said "god". Which is a contradiction of the “You shall not murder.
These primitive laws give these men permission to murder when it violates there laws that they invented to control simple, primitive people.

I can't take it anymore!
by BlackWolf inmy dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.
now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.
he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.
