This old Depeche Mode song came to mind while reading this thread.
I trust you all will see its relevance, lol.
Something went wrong along the way
Everybody's waiting for judgment day
So they can go "Told you so"
They can go "Told you so"
whenever i talk to jw's, and even in some of the jw official videos, i detect a definite vibe of sadness coming off these people.. i am very sensitive to "atmospheres" and to peoples emotional state, you wouldn't think so, because more often than not i do not react to what i detect, i just let people get on with it.. but i do get this feeling that they are sad, probably because very, very, very deep down they realise that it is all false, maybe ?.

my wife and i ran up against a brick wall trying to find out imformation on our search of finding my half brother.
will loislane pm me and offered us her service in finding him.
found us some very good leads but surprise, surprise she came across someone i totally forgot about from my childhood.
Nice one Lois!
No blushing either, you deserve the praise. :)
after learning ttatt attending meetings is real pain for me but have no option other then participate.
since many jw use mobile devices during meetings i use them too.
but instead of wt or bible study book i read apostate books like raymond franz books ,captive of concept etc.it helps a lot to survive 2 hours of boredom.
I'm truly not trying to be condescending here... I really can't imagine sitting through meetings. I feel for you guys.
The only time I've been in KH's is for funerals... I can barely get through them without standing up and yelling 'BULLSHIT!'.
Seriously, my blood boils.
i joined the ymca.
of course, i joined it for the gym.
seriously, the best deal in town for a whole family membership that the gym actually allows tweens and teens to exercise in classes and on machines.
Awesome! Have fun!
this is my first post after deciding to finally open an account here after months of 'lurking'.. a couple of issues i want to address-.
i have issues with people who go from being a witness to losing all faith in god or the bible which seems to be the case with some members of this site.
i just don't think you can let any religion change how you view god or the bible.. second-i don't feel the gb are bad people, i think most witnesses including them are misguided by something that has been drilled into their heads since they were little and are actually sincere people.
Like many others my disentanglement was progressive.
JW's, GB, Jesus, Jehovah, Bible, any man-made 'holy books' <--- These are all written off as untrue as far as I'm concerned.
I'd still like to believe something got the whole thing spinning.... that would be nice.
i always was a critical jw, now df and agnost.
but still this religion fascinates me.
in my eyes most jw are very sincere, but dumb sheep.. this board is filled with ex-jw.
I'm bitter.
My time was wasted. Time is the ultimate commodity.
Connect the dots at your leisure.
Nice!
Did you get a giggle when you asked?
i know the jw's are wrong but if they were right, this is my question...... when the big a comes, there has to be the best person who dies.
the one who lost out on life by a fraction.
the very best one who still did not make it.
Quite trying to think all mature-style.
Black and white thinking.
That's the key, don't you know?
i was recently chastised here for saying that i respected my wife's steadfast loyalty to her god.
suppose you were a medical assistant and your doctor/supervisor told you to hang blood on a witness patient?
zero respect?.
Kids, yes, court order.
Adults, their choice.
Elderly are adults, no kid gloves from me on information control of any kind. Their ability to grasp reality should be more honed than my own anyway. I'm not saying I'd go out of my way to hurt their feelings... but they're not children.
do you observe this "joy" when you see witnesses going from house to house, in the kingdom halls, out working, or during theocratic wholesome recreational activities?.
.
... and yeah, .... alcohol bottles around the house. My family didn't drink when they were 'worldly'.
Pathetic.
