I noticed that both Jody's and Betty's names appear under the bold heading SERVICE.
Obviously they are two women who service GB members.
betty georges is listed as a helper to the governing body service committee, according to this page on the website: https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/governing-body-jw-helpers/.
anybody know anything about her?.

if jesus memorial meal is meant to follow on from the jewish passover celebration, would someone explain to me why the jehovah's witness community are holding their "lord's evening meal" on tuesday 4th april; when the jewish community are not holding their 2023 passover until the 5th april 2023?
doesn't this mean that the jehovahs have got their date wrong?.

in 2008 i was baptized into the truth after leaving a trinitarian faith.
during my eight years as a jehovah’s witness, i strived to keep the standards set by the bible, wt and the faithfull and discrete slave.
but unfortunately, the congregational elders from the kingdom hall i attended were not keeping to jehovah’s standards, hence, wrote my letter of resignation.
I got my copy of "In Search Of Christian Freedom" from this site.
when i was in i can remember reading wt commands not to use the brothers and sisters as an opportunity for business ventures.. i guess in hindsight it was because the wtc was already doing it and didn't want competition for the resources of income being limited.
in addition to buying all your own literature and magazines, who else remembers the book covers, notebooks, bookmarks, etc sold at conventions with the assembly theme stamped on the front in gold coloured lettering?
nowadays people claiming to be jws have oodles of websites selling all manner of goods to them, many infringing the jw logo.
There's just one example. Tacky or what?

The other problem is that elders have different personalities and opinions.
I have seen in the past two individuals who both committed the same sin (according to the WT definition of a sin) apply to be reinstated. The first person met with the 'entrenched in their way' three elderly elders who weighed up the evidence and said NO emphatically.
The second person met with three different elders two of whom were newly appointed. This trio looked at the evidence and welcomed this second person back wholeheartedly.
I think you have seen something similar with your experience.
But that in itself shows that in spite of the prayers said by elders asking for divine guidance it is clear that holy spirit isn't directing their decisions. It's just men. And mostly opinionated men desperate to cling on to their high ranking status of elder by towing the company line.

not a hint of a new date for the great tribulation.
the attitude of jw is that they expect it immediately although the inter-lapping anointed allows for any additional extended time.
given the time of the end, the end comes after the good news is preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations with the internet and 108 years and tons of publications even in finnish.
My tuppence worth is this.
"Soon". What does this mean?
I used to use the scripture in Psalms back in my JW days in the ministry "and just a little while longer and the wicked will be no more...."
Only once was I asked by a householder "when was this written?" and "don't you think that it's a failure in view of the time elapsed since!?"
Soon. Just a little while. It can mean whatever you want it to mean, or it could mean nothing at all.
my late grandfather believed he was one of the anointed.
that aside when asked about whether the jw organisation would last, he would pull out the attached wt magazine (the second edition) and say "if the day ever comes when the organisation asks for money outright, it will be proof that jehovah is not it's backer.
" that's how convinced he was that such a thing would never happen.. i often wonder what my grandfather would make of the modern organisation today..
