  I knew of one committee where the chairman pointed to an empty chair in the room and actually said to everyone present "That chair is for Jesus the head of the congregation who is sitting in it invisibly". As one of the other elders on that committee I had never been on one with this brother before, and can remember thinking what planet is this brother on. It didn't get any better believe me. It was an embarrassment to be there.

  Do elders have to stop after a certain age?

  i know from friends who are pimi that circuit overseers are taken off when they hit age 70. since most of them are long serving men it might explain why they are pushing mid-20 year old lads into the circuit work.. are there any similar age restrictions on congregation elders?

  because we've known some doddery old men in the past who shouldn't have been kept on as presiding overseers but refused to relinquish their role.

  does anyone know?.

  the trinity doctrine says god is three persons in one being.. yet the bible says god is one.. gal 3.20 a mediator, however, implies more than one party; but god is one.
