  as many may be aware.

  i don't like the man.

  but i have chosen to review the first chapter of his book.. chapter 1... only a theory?.

  My first inclination would be to go to the Dictionary definition of "theory" and "hypothesis." An up-to-date dictionary usually gives most current definitions. In summary:

  HYPOTHESIS, THEORY, LAW mean a formula derived by inference from scientific data that explains a principle operating in nature. HYPOTHESIS implies insufficient evidence to provide more than a tentative explanation (a hypothesis explaining the extinction of the dinosaurs). THEORY implies a greater range of evidence and greater likelihood of truth (the theory of evolution). LAW implies a statement of order and relation in nature that has been found to be invariable under the same conditions (the law of gravitation). See Webster.

  latest wt is up.. reinforces jesus becoming king in 1914 (no let up on that date).

  marriage of the lamb to the 144,000. yawn.... yawn..... celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the photo drama of creation.

  it seems to me that every 100 year anniversary shall be celebrated just to try and take the wind from the sails of apostates.. .

  As usual, the scholarship of the WT writers is questionable to say the least. To make matters worse, they do not quote sources. The reader is forced to take their word for it. Perhaps they should try doing it this way, so that those who are interested in the subject can do their homework and decide for themselves:

  The Jews did expect “Messiah [the] leader” at the beginning of the CE (Matt. 2:3-6). This has to do with Jewish reckoning, especially Essene chronology. According to R. Beckwith: “The Essenes began Daniel’s seventy weeks at the return from the Exile, which they dated in Anno Mundi 3430, and that they therefore expected the period of seventy weeks or 490 years to expire in A.M. 3920, which meant for them between 3 B.C. and A.D. 2. Consequently their hopes of the coming of the Messiah of Israel (the Son of David) were concentrated on the preceding 7 years, the last week, after the 69 weeks.   While you are busy with those, would you be kind and add Matt. 24:15 and Mark 13:14 to the mix. According to the Watchtower explanation of Rev. 17:8 these have already taken place. Now remember Jesus' comparison of this happening to the Roman siege and the end of Jerusalem. Are you able to connect the dots yet?

  Stand Up For True Worship, I would love you to explain the following scriptures to me. And no, these did not take place during the First World War, as you might notice: Ezek. 38, 39; Daniel 11:41, 45; 12:7; Zech. 13:7, 8; 14:1-3; 1 Pet. 4:17; Rev. 11:7, 8. So, if there is a grain of truth in these prophecies, perhaps now is a good time to get out!

  got a stengthening committee coming in yesterday and i lashed down the bomb.. honestly, without fear i pointed out all contradictons with reference to the july 15 watchtower,.

  the first article about sheep and goats, killing the year 1914 (that was a good move) and then ressussitating it in the next article about wheat and weeds( i said this is an irresponsible writing) and attempting to re emphasize it in the rest of the following article.

  outrageous, dishonest and irresponsible.

  Yes I agree with Xanthippe. I also spelt out my doubts to the CO, to do with UN/OSCE. He "encouraged" me to write a letter to Bethel. The letter came back through the local branch: "No comment." Next step was a JC and disfellowshipping as an apostate. The pronouncement at the KH: So-and-so does not want to be a Witness anymore. So yes, I'm afraid they are setting you up for a fall. Everything of the best!

  Sacrifices

  hello all,.

  i remember, whether from a talk or from a wt, sacrifices made in time, money, or energy from jws compared directly to the animal sacrifices made by the israelites.

  can anyone find some good quotes that show this?.

  No, the trend was to move away from animal sacrifice altogether. The Qumran adherents, responsible for the Dead Sea Scrolls, also rejected the temple sacrifices. This was also predicted by Dan. 9:24-27. Sacrifice and gift offering would cease. Paul explains the significance of animal sacrifices to Christians at Hebr. 13:10-15. So, "sacrifice of praise" and "doing of good" would take the place of animal sacrifices.

  Can the jw organization be reformed?

  i know that this has been discussed in the past but i wanted to get some fresh opinions.

  there are many out there that recognize the "rot" that is in watchtower but still feel that there is a "wholesome" side to it and are trying to bring about change or reform from within.. in 2002 when the rose colored glasses came off for me and i truly started to understand ttatt, i still felt that there was some redemable aspects of the organization.. i felt that russell had some doctrinal things right.

  i don't feel like that anymore.

  Here’s a bit of Biblical wisdom that answers the question: “That which is made crooked cannot be made straight, and that which is wanting cannot possibly be counted.” (Ecc 1:15 NWT)

  Another scripture comes to mind: “But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.” (2Pe 3:13 NWT)

  God must make everything new “and in these righteousness is to dwell.” That means that there is no righteousness now. So, Jehovah’s Witnesses, as an organization, like all earthly organizations, cannot survive. Many prophecies point to this (cf. Dan. 2:44; 12:7; Zech. 13:7, 8; 14:1-3; Rev. 11:7, 8, 18; 19:11-21).

  The GENERATION explanation is now a BOLD FACE LIE

  when i first heard about the new "generation" explanation i was confused because i didn't see clearly how they were explaining it.. now it looks like they finally figured it out for themselves and it is no longer confusing.. it is now a simple, ignorant, bold face lie.. this is from the january 1st watchtower.

  (and i hope to hell someone from writing gets wind of this).

  paragraph 15 page 31 blue stands for the exact words in the watchtower.

  On Bloomberg they showed three generations of Warren Buffett's family, Warren Buffett, his son, and his son, involved in writing a book on the philantropy side of their business. I estimate about a thirty year difference between them. So, according to WT teaching, it's not three generations, but one generation with three overlaps. If you believe that, you'll believe anything. Or, they have added a new meaning to the dictionary definition of generation, and should inform Webster, Wikipaedia, et al of this extraordinary development.

  Lecithin

  i have been taking lecithin 1200 mg daily but i am wondering if i should take blood test to find out how much i can take lecithin safely daily?

  i am not sure where to go for blood test.

  any suggestions?.

  My uncle and his wife were childless. After taking Lecithin and Vitamin E (my uncle) they ended up having a boy and a girl. True story. Don't know which one did the trick. Might have been a combination of the two. So beware!

  Do you think the Watchtower corporation can be "helped" to come clean?

  it seems all humans and groups suffer from the universal problem of being able to see what is wrong with others, but not themselves.. so how to "help"?.

  maybe some paraphrasing of what the watchtower has written about others, which equally applies to them?

  *** w09 6/1 p. 9 they loved the word of god ***[ray franz' book "in search of christian freedom"] was not welcomed by the [watchtower corporation].

  Where are those that attempted to help them back on the path? Most have been disfellowshipped as apostates. I think I'll go with ABibleStudent and Smiddy on this one.
